Alright, Mickey hit a three.
He's quietly played a very good game.

LOL, he probably thinks like Larry Bird "They know that I am probably going to shoot it and if I do it is probably going to go in"

I don't know why we don't do that exact play that Luke just scored on. Throw it in there ... pump it back out and crank it up. Whether it's luke or marcus or cw doesn't matter.
Wasn't a reaction to your post Bill. Just amazed on that play.

I won't take that bet, as I too heard Bucky and Larry discuss the issue.

I heard Larry and Bucky say that CJ was saying he was okay, but DS still took him to the bench.

Me too .... CJ gave us a much needed spark in that second half. I'm liking that the young guys are picking up minutes. They're just going to gain more and more confidence.

Tough way to try and win. UD had 12 players play 9 minutes or more with nobody greater than 24.

This is way I have wanted to see the Flyers defense since BG got here. It reminds of St. Joes. Ball pressure, contested passes, challenged shots, lots of steals etc.
Forcing 25 TOs when a team is slowing the game down is a huge step forward.
I wonder when was the last time the Flyers had 15 steals.

yeah i thought last year we'd get steals from marcus, london , AS, and whoever else. Just liked blocked shots from DS and Thiago, the steals never materialized.
this is a huge step, and i have faith the shots will start falling.

Still playing too many people. Sounds like we played a lot better, but we are NOT going to be able to get away with playing this many people. MJ and CW need to play 30-32 minutes a game if this team is going to be successful. That being said, glad we played well tonight and hopefully we will be able to get another victory over Bethune-Cookman.

Im not sure we know what we have yet with some of these players. I havent seen much from Paul Williams yet, but he has not had the number of opportunities yet to show what he can do.
I think London will start all year, but the PG duty will be combo plate variety consisting of the Dread Brothers. They'll split minutes relatively evenly and BG will roll with the hot hand.

I don't know if you were there or not, but we did not need them to play 30+ minutes. Marcus was not there on offense and we really played some tough D. If we play D like this the whole season we are going to be a tough win for anyone.
It did not feel like the subbing was overdone at all this game, it was very much in the flow of what was happening. We played hard as a team and everyone deserved the PT they were getting. I would hate for any of our guys to wear down. Especially since we play 4 times in 7 days starting on Sunday.
I really feel that this is the way Coach Gregory has wanted his teams to play since he was hired. He finally has the pieces to play the way he wants. Tough D, Rebound, Run. In that order. Good step in the right direction.

Micheal Garrity.
Poor Marcus Neal. Well, not really. Shouldn't flip people off if your head can't take the boos. He was done once the SS started messing with him.
Loved the "Where is Marcus" chant when he was on the bench.

No doubt you've got to have the horses to grind on defense like that. It was especially evident once we hit the half way point of the second half ... you could almost see dsu's legs just go ... lazy passes being the first clue.

He looked hesitant in his 9 minutes. I honestly think that is just a matter of not getting to play with everybody. The more time he gets I think the more comfortable he'll be. He obviously has the physicality and athleticism right out of the gate ... get some confidence. I think we'll see a different PW. If that happens BG will be playing with a full deck and it will get interesting.

I agree that this is the type of team Gregory has been trying to put on the court. Everyone gets some minutes and hustles the entire time to control the tempo and put teams away that do not have the depth to handle it. Yes it would be nice to pad CW's box score by giving him more minutes, but I would rather see him on the highlight real on breakaways once the other team has worn down. He will be lining up for dunks on fast breaks like United Airlines flying into O'Hare if we can keep this defensive intensity going.
This team is going to get harder and harder to scout if our newbies can keep putting some points on the board.
We have been getting impressed with Luke and CJ, but we still may get a surprise out of Williams. He is supposed to be the best of the bunch. If Gregory can keep the 12 player rotation going smoothly, why not. It sounds like the recipe for making it through the grind of the A10.

Dread Brothers -- very nice -- I might use that!
much crisper tonight -- rebound margin, turnovers for most part. Overall FG% low, skewed by MJ and Fabrizius. That should consistently improve -- much better already in 2nd half!

We were able to play defense the way we did tonight through outstanding effort. Spreading the minutes allows our team to sustain effort like that for the whole game.

I did not get a chance to watch tonight's game but from what I know about the MEAC, yes we should have been able to play everybody. My thing is though, we should be preparing for the rest of the year and by doing that we need to be narrowing down the rotation. My question to you is, how many teams have you seen in the NCAA's recently that have played 12 guys? Not many, if any. I know it stinks to have guys that don't get to play very often, but it's about winning. If we continue to play this many guys, we're going to struggle down the game. MJ might have been off, but maybe only playing 24 minutes had something to do with that. Basketball is a rhythm game, no doubt about it. Glad we won, and it sounds like we played well, we just need to start trimming the rotation.

It's the 2nd game of the year, you start trimming your rotation going into conference play. Play everyone you can now, get them into the flow and into the season so once the rotation does trim down if there is an injury someone who had had some time on the floor this year can step in.

If we've done it, it's pre-2004.
Since, 2004, we've had 6 games of 10 or more steals:
2008 Game 2 (vs Delaware State) : 15 steals
2005 Game 3 (vs Morehead State): 13 steals
2006 Game 13 (at North Carolina): 13 steals
2007 Game 25 (at LaSalle): 12 steals
2006 Game 11 (vs Miami-Ohio): 11 steals
2007 Game 11 (vs Loyola-Maryland): 11 steals
