We can't take them out to 26 feet. Leaves them too much room to roam. It's simple, if they can make 60% from that range, we get to rest a couple of extra days.

One of the problems with a short bench is that when someone is off there isn't anyone to replace them with.

Scooch does nothing when he gets the high ball screen. Totally negates the advantage.

I can't believe how aggressively Rhode Island is going to the offensive glass without getting called for over-the-back. Referees seem to love that call.

They will make that call 99% of the time. They have swallowed their whistles in the second half.

Is Biruta ever going to miss a FT? 63% for the year and is 8/8 with a perfect stroke.

Baruta 8/8 foul line, 65% shooter. Please don't tell me it is due to poor foul shooting defense.

Another steal and bucket by Sibert. He is cold from outside but is on fire on the defensive end. 46-44 good guys, Rhody possesses the ball with a TO.

Flyers' ball with 8 seconds to go. After a scrum, Scoochie came up with it! Time out and the officials are huddling. I hope they don't modify the first call.

Hurley yells and the fans and players follow. Yes there were travels by UD in the corner there, but also Pierre then Scooch were fouled.
But seriously, we got the majority of the calls today. Up 4, Scooch fouled the guy for the lay-up and instead we had fast-break. The offensive calls were also a joke. I am the ultimate homer, but we got more good calls than bad from the officials today.

Props to Pierre for stepping up in the final 7 minutes of the game, when the team really needed him. I hope he carries that attitude into tomorrow's game.
This team is absolutely amazing. Just a bunch of winners who know how to get it done. I'm not sure how many games I've counted them out in and they just keep winning. Such smart players and such winners. This is fun.

Pierre finally finds his way to Brooklyn, and ends up with a decent game. 10 point, 7 rebounds, 3 assists.
Sibert with 12 pts, 5 assists and 5 steals. I do not believe he made a three, but wow he does what he has to do to get us a win.

In spite of how quickly this board gives up on our players in mid-game, these 5 starters are the best finishing ballers we have seen at Dayton in a long time. They simply have another gear and refuse to lose.
Congratulations team.
PS- You play again in 18 hours.

One last comment. These announcers just gushed all over Hassan Martin before the game. It left me thinking we finally are going to see a big that can handle our undersized forwards. We could be in real trouble. He had 6 blocks the first time we met, and 6/7 from the field.
He was 2/7 from the field today and 5 rebounds fell in his lap. If it were not for his missed layups and a blown dunk, his performance wouldn't even register on the Richter scale. Not even a blocked shot.
We got very little credit from the announcers for making Hassan basically a no-show.

this was a first half comment and yes Pierre had a cruddy offensive first hslf.
however he and Pollard both limited Hassan Martin and the Eastern European dude, who was a great foul shooter..
To me in late second half, PIERRE was THE MAN on offense fir a few minutes keeping us alive. Until Jordan finally made some of those drives and wrap under the hoop
