Tied at 22
Flyers started slow and were down 4-1, but made a nice comeback. Now they need show some maturity and close this out.

Having trouble finishing again. SLU is playing well and if the didn't have 3 serving errors they could have put this game away early.
Not sure what UD problem is in getting up for their opponents no matter what the sport.
That 6-6 record for SLU is misleading.
flyers need take care of business.
SLu out hit the flyers .342 to .256

Dayton blew a 22 - 20 lead and SLU out scored Dayton 5 - 1 down the stretch. Not a good showing for the flyers....yet.

25-16 UD. This is how they are supposed to play. However there are still too many dumb errors, letting ball drop inbetween two players poor set to Hannan etc. Need to clean it up.
Dayton .481 to .091 for SLU

Tough loss in the first, but a decisive win in the second. Avid is right, there is room for improvement. This SLU team isn't great, but definitely the best team we have seen in 3 weeks. A 4 set win against a conference rival would look good. Especially if we can win the next 2 like we did the second set.
Xavier 2-0 over Duq. (25-20 25-17)
Michigan 2-0 over Iowa (25-22 25-15)

The block has been pretty good in the 2nd half of the match.
SLU serve has been bad and they have given UD a bunch of points.

Okay a win is a win and over SLU is good. But they still have some work to do.
Video was good as were the announcers. Apparently it is being broadcast on flyer radio, the internet and channel 3 in Dayton.
X took Duq in 3 straight so the flyers need to do the same.
Nice win ladies. Go Flyers!

The very consistent Flyers win again. After taking SLU's best in the first set, they made some adjustments and routed the bilikens in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
Andrea Beaty dominated in the 1st, but here name was rarely called in the 3rd and 4th. Dayton's block picked her up and stole any confidence she had. Sam played a big part by swinging herself and finding Isolde to mix it up. Given the rivalry that UD and SLU have I think the margin of victory Dayton won by is a success. Saint Louis already had a win against Marqutte (about as good as UD), so a clear victory looks pretty good. Obviously, a sweep would have been nice and this team could have done it, but you can't be completely disappointed with this outcome.
Let's hope Dayton does the same to the Dukes. Xavier won today against Duq. with a 25 point diff. Xavier and SLU should be a fun one to follow. You would think that would be closer than either of today's matches.

As far as the broadcast goes. I thought it was pretty good. Both announcers were knowledgeable, we had video, and we had the score on the screen. I think those are the essentials to a good broadcast.
A clearer video stream would be a plus, but realize xavier didn't have a video broadcast at all. Had to follow xavier vs. duq. on gametracker.

Only time Andra Beatty name was called is when she hit it long or wide. After Dayton blocked her twice in a row she tried to adjust her swing trying to go higher, unfortunately she was still swinging as hard which cause her kills to go long.
That is what a good defense does, and Dayton adjusted well. Just would have like to have done it in three.

Other than the end of set 1 I thought we played pretty well. St Louis is a well coached team with good talent.
I was impressed with the improvement we have shown on defense. Paige is a much better player than she was last year, much more accurate on her passing. Ally is also much better in the back row than she was last year. But, Yvonne, Rachel and others made some nice passes and defensive plays. Sam made a few spectacular plays, she is very very good at quickly reading where the ball is going.
ALAS my pointer about St Louis losing 9 of 12 first sets didn't mean squat, lol.

Kind of gave away that first set after an early lead. Kray serving long on set point didn't help. Got our block going in the next couple of sets. Haven't seen the stats, but did not think we hit all that well.

Wisc. GB had a nice come back . GB won 3-2 (22-25 24-26 25-13 25-22 15-3) Helps out UD a little bit.
Although UD helped themselves more by beating a top 100 team by 9 in the last three sets. The consistency is the most impressive. The fact that they didn't let up after they achieved a couple of big victories is impressive. Based on RKPI that is Dayton's 2nd best victory. Dayton beat Houston in 3 with a 15 point diff., but beat SLU in 4 win a 25 point diff.
Very similarly ranked UNC Tarheels beat SLU by a 19 point diff. two weeks ago in a match that wasn't a major rivalry. I like where UD is. They should move up in the Pablo rankings if they can do the same to Duquesne.

Its all your fault...the team read your comments and camped out in the first game instead coming out to play

I should add that the crowd was really disappointing. Smaller student turnout but the local crowd was really bad for a big match
