Dayton just got it's first block for our 20th point. HP leads 24-21. Timeout HP.

Drop first set - 21-25
Went from up 12-8 to down 12-14. Are these mid-set melt downs rotation issues?

UD drops first set 21-25. Regroup and bring it! We are playing a 5-1 with Jane setting and Brooke hitting from the rightside OH.
We have GOT to get our block going.

It's hard to tell without video. But loss of focus and concentration is usually in the equation when you let a team go on a 5 point run.

25-23 Flyers in set 4 to win set and match. Very tight set after Flyers dug back from 8-12 deficit. HP was 23-10 last year so I think they will win a ton of matches this year.

I was at a restaurant and wifi to udpride server wasn't working. Live stats fine, just couldn't post.
The come back in the third set was very good to see. Also good to see Brooke respond with a service run when TH called on her to serve. I believe it was her first time serving as a Flyer.
Very happy to be going home 2-1 on the season. There is a bunch of things to work on (passing, serving, blocking, timing and placement with the hitters to name a few) but I think we found a general direction this weekend. Hard work is needed to start carving out an identity and path for this season. I think it's fair to say we are behind where we thought we would be, but we have talent. Any player who steps up with serving and backrow skills can help this team. Get after it and earn some court time.

I was following along every once and a while. That comeback at the end of set 3 was huge. High Point was better than I expected. Nice way to end the weekend.

Played 2 2016 NCAA teams and they weren't even the best of the weekend. Cal Poly was (18-9 last year didn't cut it), with their transfer from UCLA who made first-team freshman last year (picture Jamie with curlier hair). She joined her older sister on CP who is shorter at 6'1" but a total player. Those girls could all scrap and dig, and their setter never got rattled.
We have some serious passing to work on, and our blocking needs to be more predictable. We may have found a couple of good, hard servers in Bruns and Brooke (though Maggie is a very good server and should be back in soon).
Early part of the year, one of our core back row players plus a first team all-fresh star on the sidelines. Tried a 6-2 and lost our first 4 sets of the season. Went back to last year's 5-1 and won 6-of-7. I would have loved to see us play Cal Poly with Jamie healthy and us playing a 5-1 but at least we seem to have proven we can win with what we played last year. And we aren't 1-5 like we started Alaina's and Jill's and Angel's senior year. Next weekend will be tough (Iowa State and Pitt) but should provide 2 more tests to build on.
