I forgot to mention they were late getting started yesterday too. And then didn't have audio until 7-7 in first set.

Second-rate.

Watching SLU-X. SLU just choked in Set 2. Up 23-20 and couldn't finish it. Could not get a pass to get into system. X up 2-0 at intermission.

Speaking of chocking, did we forget to bring our A game or are we looking ahead to tomorrow. Gotta stay focused on Duq and take care of business.

They also let Duq come back in game one as well. Not championship performance yet. Hope they bring it back in second half.

UD wins. 25-19, 24-26, 25-19, 25-15.

Team started on fire in set 1 but cooled off pretty fast and we were giving up quite a few errors. After intermission we started firing on all cylinders. End up hitting .331 as a team - which is excellent. But it added up as .208, .265, .371, .541 per set.

24 errors for the match - which at 6/set isn't bad. But first two sets we averaged 7+/set - so got better there too.

Dukes scored a ton of points off block touches. Both balls tooling off the top of the block and flying over the backrow players heads, balls landing straight down on our side of the net, and balls bouncing out of bounds back on their side of the net. I'm sure they'll work on penetrating the arms/hands over the net a little further and turning the arms towards the center of the court. All that said, we had 10 blocks in 4 sets. A good night, but not great. And it could have been a ton more. Needs a little fine-tuning on technique. Plus X runs a fast offense, which are lower sets. Much harder to tool off low sets.

Also Jess and Linds' timing was just a little off tonight but I'm confident that won't be the case tomorrow. 20 minutes to work on re-connect and that will be fixed.

It's PRIMETIME for the ladies --- CBS College Sports tomorrow afternoon. 2nd time on national TV. Can't wait to take it to X.

Cowdrey had a HUGE night. 24 digs, 15 kills on 38 swings for .342. That's as big a night as she's every had.

Kray also had 21 digs with 14 kills for a double-double, and Paige 17 digs. We had 84 digs as a team - 21/set is huge. Jess had 54 assists - which is either a career best or tied her career best. I'll have to look that up. I know it came in the 5 set match with SLU to open the A-10 season.

Linds had 7 blocks. That will probably put her back in the Top 2 nationally.

Beck and Yvonne also had monster nights hitting the ball. 13 kills on .545 hitting for Beck and 11 kills on .500 for Yvonne.

Best night ever for our OH's. Anytime you have your OHs take 56% of your swings and hit the following, you will be very tough to beat:

Yvonne - .500
Amanda - .342
Kray - .222 -- and I think they missed one of Kray's overpass kills. GT came up with "KILL by..." and it was blank. It was either Becky or Kray (hard to tell with the camera from the roof) and I think it was Kray - but no credit in the stats. If you add that one, Kray hit .297.

I looked it up on GT - it was our 10th point in the 2nd set. Jess was serving - so in the stats on df.com it give her the kill. It was an overpass kill and if Jess was serving, she can't reach above the net to kill anything or set for that matter. But since no one was credited, it goes to the server since she is the player entered on the play in the system.

It s**ks for Kray. Big difference between hitting .222 and .297 when you're an outside. I already ranted about this one other week. 20 minutes and the stats could be perfect if anyone really wanted them to be. That one stat error could be the difference between Kray making the all-tourney team or not. I hate that for any of these girls. They work too hard to be short-changed.

It wouldn't have been second rate if they had let me call it like last year (and like baseball)!!!

All joking aside, just a reminder Mandy and I will be there tomorrow to call it (audio only) for all the Flyer fans out there. We might be a little behind the TV since we'll be on internet, so I guess I understand if some people would rather just listen to the TV people, but just remember there will be Flyer audio on DF.com for anyone who's interested. We did this last year as well and got a good response so we'll see how it works out this year.
