We had that for a run out if not for the foul that he refs didn't call. Dang I really didn't want OT but I'll take it.

Alright I'll take OT! I think the momentum may be in our favor. Great defense on that last possession!

why put KH back in? They played great D the last two possessions without him and he is an offensive zero.

if LW had turned around and looked he had a wide open layup ... instead a bad shot results in a fast break layup

CW fouls out. So much for my OT game plan. Every set is a foul. UD needs to drive into the paint.

that was so stupid. Kurt can't guard Seawright so he switches onto the PG. Just hedge, you don't have to step out he isn't that good of a shooter.

My sentiments exactly!!!
Bogus goal tending call, we should have and could have won this game.
But also further proof that missed free throws can come back to haunt you.
This one seriously reminds me of the GW game.

Show me the intagibles. Eatten alive inside. Can't get a board in traffic or when we need one. Doesn't score and
he kept DS on the bench when he's having a good night.

2 main things really boiling me over right now:
1) NO Searcy at all in OT? Just stupidity especially that last whole minute of the game.
2) When will BG ever learn to design/draw up a play immediately out of a TO? This is one of his biggest downfalls as a coach and always gripes the hell outa me.
Tough loss and now time to put it past us and win against Temple because it's not gonna get any easier till the A10 tourny

Oh well. This loss is not for lack of effort. Several players came up with big plays down the stretch. Just got beat on a buzzer beater.

Another issue that cost us
How about the 6 point turnaround that to MP's intentional foul. Thank you Mickey!

Marcus Johnson against LaSalle. Actually 1.4 seconds. We've definitely have lost our share of buzzer beaters.

Im not blaming this loss on anything but FT's......but Kurt has got to grab that rebound that went right past him, he gets that and we got the game in our control, instead RI gets a three point swing off of it. Also, Kurt was getting dominated by Seawright down low all of OT, whens BG gonna see that enough is enough and put in Searcy who was clearly the better player tonight? Its gonna be a rough nights sleep...

The goaltending call was such BS....the refs didn't cost us the game but they really suck. I've read every thread and every point of view on the topic but I can't imagine that many of these crews that I've watched would rate more than a "C" on most nights......
Great effort by the Flyers. Showed a lot of heart.

they are a poor shooting team, they have missed free throws all year. You expect them to start making them now. They are a poor shooting team from the floor and the line, it is what it is.

This was some of the worst officiating I've ever seen, in any game at any time. Wrights steal was ALL ball, MJ block (unbelievable btw) was clean. The play where Barron hit the 3 late, MJ again got fouled gathering the rebound and thrown to the ground (and again, no call).
I don't see how RI can feel good about this win, but I'm sure they do.

are you kidding me? you fail to mention Kurts two HUGE free throws at the end of the game. Searcy was not the better player tonight.
Im so sick of this.

This underscores just how important the last 3 games are; We don't win the 2 at home, I think we have to run the table in AC...JMHO.

He's killing us with his lack of offense and compounding it with poor D and rebounding.
Stop making excuses. He's not getting it done and BG needs to cut his time on the flor-- a lot!!!!!!!!!!! DS outscored him in half the minutes and provided a lift in the first half. Kurt never sparks the team.

KH has done good things at times this year but he hasn't been abused all year like URI did in OT. They were simply attacking KH. Since he gives little offensively you have to get him out. He just couldn't move his feet quickly enough to guard any URI player.
If a guy makes a jump shot to win it then so be it. But you can't switch your C on the PG and then get beat cleanly for a layup

I would say more inconsistent then anything else. Call fouls for a couple of minutes, and then completely overlook it later. Made absolutely no sense.

DS has his best half ever and hardly plays the second half...
and for the guy blaming Mickey, he had 11 second half points, played his ass off on defense, and was called for a week intentional foul trying to make up for Londons fu#$#%#$ turnover..

I agree - Mickey turned it on in the second half. But I'm not sure about the intentional foul being weak. From my seat in the theater it really looked he was nearly going for a tackle rather than going for the ball.

If that is true then are you related to Searcy?

You can blame who you want, but the fact of the matter is, we shoot freebies better and we win by 10 without OT....I'm sure that's been pointed out, but shouldn't college athletes be able to do that?

KH
The Rams absolutely attacked and abused Kurt in overtime.
Just like they abused and attacked DS for the first 40 minutes. Get off the Kurts back, for the first 40 minutes he was by far the better defender in the low post. Kudos to Gregory for putting Kurt back in for the overtime

The Flyers shot 60 from the line. So they missed two more than normal.

Kurt's two "huge" free throws didn't make up for him getting beat off the dribble about everytime down the floor by Seawright. They also didn't make up for him missing the biggest rebound of the game that fell right in his hands. Get over him! He shouldn't be playing as much as he does! It's pretty obvious to people who don't have UD red/blue blinders on.

It's a lot easier to defend DS on this night than it is KH. So, no I'm not related. The way the 2 played tonight you'd have to be Ray Charles to think that Kurt deserved more than twice the minutes. Absolutely ludacris!
Kurt has shown me absolutely nothing this season to prove to me that he deserves any more minutes than DS. They should be equal minutes about every game...and in games where they are up and down like tonight DEVIN should get twice the minutes.

LOL. This one takes the case for the dumbest post ever on this board!
"Just like they abused DS for the first 40 minutes". (Oh, wait, Devin only played 13 minutes genius)
Like I said, you're brainwashed if you're defending KH this game.

Thanks for the compliments Einstein. Yes, Devin played 13 of the 40 minutes, as he is a defensive liability compared to KH. Amazing how many people do not understand this simple concept

Well thanks for the terrible internet feed from RI wasn't able to see much of the game but did see KH get schooled in OT.
Would be interesting to know why DS saw limited action in 2nd half, but there must have been a good reason for it.

Hey there Newton, there is no possible way that Searcy could have played worse D than Kurt in overtime. And Devin scored 10 points in 13 minutes, while Kurt scored 6 in 29 minutes, with 1 field goal. What are you people. on dope?!

Ummm. I think everyone saw who was the defensive liability last night.
It's simple. KH should play against the big bulky centers...and DS is going to do better against the more athletic one's. You can't see that because you're stubborn about KH. You defend him like he's a phenom. He wouldn't be seeing more than 10 minutes a game on any other top team in the A10. Why should he see 25-30 on our team?

Check the very first sentence of my very first post on the subject. Kurt was a dissapointment in overtime as I said. But as I said, he played no worse in overtime on D, than Searcy did during regulation.
Then Figgie posts his + / - on the game. With a 22 point difference between KH and DS when they were on the floor, it obviously proves my point.
DS is better offensively, he just has not caught on to how to play D. Yes, he scored 10 points, but when he was on the floor we were outscored by 12 points. I do not understand why some of you can not get this simple fact.
DS is developing into a better player all the time, and his time will come. For now, KH is by far the better option

and for the record, I never defended the guy until recently. I just sat back and laughed at all of the bashers, but enough is enough.
BG and staff know what they are doing. KH is our starting center and will continue to get the bulk of the minutes. And if you hate both of them so much, you can get some darn good tickets to games in Fairborn.

Um, sorry. That was a joke from the movie "Fast Times at Ridgemont High", you know, Professor Hand and Spicoli. You are always welcome to pony up some cash yourself to help Chris out. That's why we do it you know.

Try reading something in context next time. What a tool.
Let's see someone rants that KH did nothing the entire night, no rebounds, no scoring, etc. I offer something that was more than an intangible -- he grabbed a critical rebound and hit both FTs.
Where in that statement did I say he should have played more that twice the minutes of DS? Point it out to me, I am dying to see that.
I actually agree with Gazoo on another thread who indicated that neither DS nor KH should have been on the floor at the end. We needed a defensive-minded quick team out there. DS is not defensive-minded and KH is not quick.
Lastly, we hit 60% FTs, and it was pointed out that was only 2 FTs less than normal -- guess what -- we win by 2 in that scenario in regulation.
It was bound to happen that we lose a close one due to our inability to hit FTs. To hang this loss on one player is ludicrous.
I say this loss is CWs fault, if he didn't foul out, KH doesn't come back into the game. No, wait, it's MJ's fault for blocking a shot that ended up being goal-tending..
Try stepping back from your KH-hater glasses. I don't defend him getting more minutes, but I can't stand bashing our players as if the loss is entirely on their shoulders. That last shot was a prayer that was answered. Move on.

The +/- stats are very skewed. Figgie admitted that himself.
Like I said...if you watched the game last night and felt that KH was the "better option"...You don't know much about basketball! Kurt might be a better option in some slow paced half court games (even then I can contest that he's not)...but in a game like RI he is most definitely not!

I never blamed the entire loss on one player. However, if I were going to, it would be KH. He was clearly exposed on D in the last couple minutes and OT.
I guess if I had to blame it on someone though, it wouldn't necessarily be KH....it would be BG for having him in the game.
Maybe I should convert my "hatred" over to BG. For the record I don't hate KH, I actually like him as a kid and as a hard worker. I just can't fathom why he plays so much. He's done nothing ON THE FLOOR in his career at UD to warrant being a 3 year starter and playing as much as he does.
