If the first semifinal is any indication, Allie LaForce might be the only worthwhile member of today's announcing team.

The bad? We lose Pierre to graduation this year and only have one more year of Pollard. The good? One more year of Sibert and three more of Smith and Kyle Davis.

I think it is a standard term of all announcer contracts that, if a player unexpectedly uses the backboard, the announcer is required to make a "the bank is open" comment.

The turnovers are really uncalled for...our offense is using hands instead of feet to get position.

I feel like the refs are making the TV calls both ways -- a lot of offensive fouls -- is that now 4-6 offensive fouls, really?
BTW, Hurley is so annoying. Argues everything.

Boy, Archie needs to get Pierre fired up. He is sleepwalking at this point. He shows none of that aggression to get into the paint and shoot his patented jump hook.

Rhode Island 29% 3 point shooting on the year, #339/351 nationally. Dayton 3 point defense on the year gives up 30% 3 point shooting on the year or #30/351 nationally.
Rhode Island 3/5 or 60% with 2/2 from 25% shooter and 1/2 from 30% shooter.
We need to keep letting them take these shots.

In this first half our offense has been terrible: Sibert forcing things, Pierre with another no-show, unforced turnovers, general lack of movement.

Hard to get a lead in an ugly game like this. I have been watching basketball all day long and it seems like most of the games are like that - just plain ugly.

To be in this game with Pierre and Sibert struggling on offense is a testimony to the good defense that the Flyers are playing.

24 all at the break... We need 24 & 22 to be big in the 2nd half (have a combined 4 pts)

We need to keep letting them take these shots.

Come on Rhody is 4 for 7 from 3 point land, they are +6 points on 3 (should be 2/7). We are 2 for 8, or -3 points (should be 3/8) The 3 point shot, the great equalizer in college basketball.
I feel like we have this game at 24 and 24. They likely will not keep shooting 57% from 3 and we will not shoot 25% from 3.

Pierre's been absent for three consecutive halves this tournament. It's going to be pretty difficult to win back-to-back games with no offensive contribution from him.

I feel like the Atlantic 10 has its fair share of good coaches whose quality is overshadowed by their ridiculous sideline behavior and antics: Hurley, Mooney, Schmidt.

So who are the good 3 point shooting teams we need to avoid in the NCAA tournament because we can't defend that shot?

4 fouls total...DP, SS, JS and I think KD. That's a good sign.

Pierre has given us nothing the last 3 games. It looks like he has hit a wall. We are really going to need him next week and in the 2nd half.
The RI bench are a bunch of cry babies.

Puzzler?
Dayton is not getting to the foul line and they have a Pierre as a non-factor on offense again.
Their defense is strong and bench play has been good.

Obviously RI strategy is do not let Sibert beat you. They are denying him the ball and double teaming. Archie has to adjust, and part of that has to be for Pierre to get out of his funk and Pollard to come alive, so they have to single Sibert.

Especially considering how early and how quickly they were called; it seemed like it could have been one of those days where Miller's spending large chunks of the game trying to coax minutes through all the fouls.

We are the 30th best team out of 351 in the NCAA on defending the 3 for the season. See kenpom.com
Yesterday, we had a guy who was 3 for 20 in his career go 4/5. Pure luck. You let a guy who shoots 15% in his career jack up open 3s, in fact you encourage it.
Garrett today is a 25% 3 point shooter, again you boarderline want him to take 3s and he is 2 for 2.
Unlucky the last 2 games, we play good 3 D.

Pierre is 1 for 7, rest of team is 9 for 19 shooting. But Pierre has 5 rebounds and 3 assists. His shot just is not falling.

Pierre and Pollard have run into a couple of tough lane defenders with quickness. Give the defense some credit. There is nothing "wrong" with Pierre.
This may be the first half of basketball this season coming up where the opponent gets us totally gassed.

The entire offense looks awkward, unfortunately. It hasn't looked smooth or efficient for any real stretch today.

You are begging the guy who is 3 for 20 in his career to jack 3s. You want to give him open 3s so he takes them. We did and he went like 4/5.

Pierre, Sibert, and Scooch 4 for 17 and we are only down 3! i will take it.
That was not an offensive foul on Rhody. That is the 6th offensive foul in the game?!??!?!

He was 4/5 from 3 and 10/11 for the game - at some point someone should think he's shooting well and maybe we should play defense. Maybe the reason so many players seem to have career games against us is because we focus on what they've done rather than what they are doing

Matthews just shot a contested 25 foot 3 pointer and made it. RI will win if they shoot over 50% from 3 and right now they are 6/10 ...

Just got my hi-def cable upgrade finished at halftime. From what I've seen in 4+ minutes of action, they don't seem to be finishing through contact in this half.

If you're wondering why we'll lose, Wehrli is tied for our leading scorer well into the second half.

Peirre must have at least 6 turnovers today. OK, Flyer fans, I know I am on his case, but somebody needs to be. This is a huge game and he is AWOL for the third straight game.
