Did the Sports Info office tell the announcers to constantly talk about how young and inexperienced so fans would be brainwashed into thinking like the athletic department wants them to.

Every game this year, there has been a run of 10+ points, either by Flyers, opponents or both. Very streaky team.

UD struggles against tall teams that are physical. So far Wagner has not appeared to be either and has missed a boatload of outside shots.

Some player or coach is going to get T'ed up pretty soon. Everybody complaining and reacting to every call.
That call on Kostas was crap though.
Edit: I just watched the replay. Rollo wouldn't even agree with that being a foul

We are back to looking like a very inexperienced team. Turnovers, fouls and poor D. Wagner shooting 48% this half.

If the announcer calls it "Dayton Arena" one more time I'm driving to UD Arena to educate him

Didn't post during the game, but have to make this one comment. Wagner got into the bonus with 4 seconds left in the first half. The color guy then proceeds to explain how this will change their offensive mindset as they try to take advantage of being in the bonus to get more trips to the FT line. I'm thinking...this guy knows team fouls reset at halftime, right? Surely he knows that. Or does he not realize there are literally 4 seconds left in the first half. Alas.

I heard that too. Sounds like he wasn’t cognizant of the time.

I missed the game due to a family Christmas party, but listened to the end of the first half in the van and watched the 2nd half at my sister's house. My step-sister came to the party after the game and told me the refs were so bad that at times the arena crowd booed them even when they made a bad call against Wagner. I watched the game on my recording later and was appalled at the refs. Wagner got away with multiple flops. At least 3 of DD's fouls looked bogus to me.
Thank God our free throw shooting saved us in the end--again.
I'm really hoping the team has it together by the time they play at SLU. I'm going on Leslie's fan bus with my sisters-in-law. In 2010 we were there and Dayton was up 12 at the half, only to lose by 2 in double OT.

* I sit behind it
Re: Refs.
There were a couple WTF's and the 5-second call was quick, but the calls that got the most boos were 100% correct. Kostas throws his arms and elbows around like a slingshot and in nobody's world is that going to be OK. He hooks defenders (foul), pushes rebounders in the back (foul) and awkwardly will run into anyone in his area (foul) for no apparent reason except that he's trying to get from point A to point B as fast as possible. Which isn't a foul, but is royally stupid if it means running into people.
For the uninformed - of which there are plenty - most contact is only a foul if an ADVANTAGE is gained...and that's subjective. Some fouls are, however, called by DEFINITION when no advantage is there. For example, putting 2 hands on a ball handler is, be definition, a foul. Extending your arm into a defender is, by definition, a foul. There are other instances of this but I'm just trying to make a clarification.
So if you see Kostas or Crosby put 2 hands on someone as they drive to the hoop, hear a whistle and scream 'That's a Bullsh*t touch foul' or 'Let them play', you're unqualified to comment further for the simple reason that you don't know the simplest of rules.
Save your breath for the truly bad calls, which are few and far between. Booing every call just makes you look like an idiot. Or in John R*'s case, a moron.

Sometimes I wonder how forceful the coaches really are about not extending your arm while in contact with a player. DD acts like he never heard of the rule. And Kostas may have been watching too much tape of the Milwaukee Bucks and big brother where is seems as if contact is not only welcome, it's required.
