Did we really expect it to end any differently? We've lost every single tight game this year. Of course X gets back to back rebounds off back to back missed free throws, and then of course Matt D's trey rims all the way in and out.
Jimmy Carter. It's the life of the Dayton Flyers...

No way we should go to the C7 with this slop. It would be like the Great Midwest all over again.

this game was not about boxing out, it was about physical toughness. The defining play was around the 8 minute mark. Benson had Philmore boxed out on an X miss. Philmore was able to tip the ball up, push Benson under the basket and then grab the rebound and stick it back in the basket while Benson stood there and watched.

16 total rebounds. Perryman got that on a bad night by himself.

boxing out is about physical toughness...so its one in the same too me. either way...benson is awful and should be sitting the rest of the year.

It would be something, but x is only going to get better (because it seems they always do) and it seems we're going the other direction (we take a half step forward and 2 back)

There is no excuse for this. If the kid is in trouble, that's another issue. But he has demonstrated strength and attitude whenever he is in the game.

No, this is on KD. He had open guys all night and decided to keep dribbling. Stop making excuses.

That play alone should get Benson a seat at the end of the bench for the rest of the season.

Watching Xavier grab back-to-back rebounds on back-to-back misses of the front ends of 1-and-1s pretty much sums up 30+ years of losing down there. I mean, after that what else can you actually expect to see? I've watched a lot of basketball in my life and I'm having trouble remembering another time I've seen it. A win at Xavier is feeling like an Indians World Series title; give me a few more seasons and I might bump it to White Sox, Red Sox, and the Cubs level.

Remember, Archie has three and-a-half more years to learn how to do his job. So get used to it.
X shot 52.8% from the floor and just about doubled us up on the boards.

I think at some point that Archie has to go with some toughness inside with Scott. We are also very predictable with our last shot. Dillard goes against four defenders and forces a tough shot. We've lost a lot of close games that way.

At some point? It should have been done a long time ago. A major part of this loss is on AM. No way Benson should have been out there in the second half after being pushed around all game.

"Disheartening"? Really, Archie? DISHEARTENING?!?!?!?!
Thank God they emphasized rebounding in practice this week. Just think how bad it would have been if they hadn't?
God, I'm just so sick right now...

How Scott didn't see a minute of playing time tonight is beyond me. JB played as soft as a marshmello. Agree, JB should only be coming off the bench going forward. Give Scott his minutes; at least Scott wants to play hard. I'd accept his freshmen mistakes for at least 3 GD rebounds....

I'd say at this point....expect the White Sox to win the World Series before you ever, EVER see UD win at X. This was the most uninspired play I think I've ever seen a UD team display down there. Those last 30 seconds just showed who had desire and who didn't. Absolutely NO excuse to lose a missed foul shot rebound, really....ever....

the next time down he passed to Pierre who nailed the three to give the Flyers the lead. I'll take Pierre over any other Flyer late in the game. He also nailed a big one in OT against USC.

The problem is less with the sets than the point guard who won't pass and move.

Those two stats are one and the same essentially. If you miss, rebound and put it back in you shoot 50%. That's pretty much what they did.
The original defense was not that bad. Rebound the dang ball and they shoot low to mid 30s.
