Boise St was all class
I feel bad for the Boise St. fans and team. That is a hard way to lose a ball game. Feels like they outplayed UD for a great portion of that game. Dayton shot better then 70% in second half, and that cost BSU.
The no call at the end is a tough pill to take. I'm glad the game is over. It was ugly.
Neither team should have been playing in this game. It defined PIG (Play in game).
The whistles were all over the place, and then nothing at all. Glad the Flyers won, but man that was hard to watch.

That was arguably the best team we played all year. Miracle victory. Marks was tremendous, although he deserved about 7 five second calls. Officiating was a pile of S for both teams. We didn't deserve the play in game and we didn't arrange it, so the pundits and the national media can suck my foot.
Let's take a $$$$ing army to Columbus.

Glad that you said this. I agree.
Boise should have been playing UCLA, in my view. Then, I would have been rooting for Boise because I pull for the team opposing the power conferences. I will be a Boise fan after this and wish them the best.

Boise plays with tenacity, that is for sure, some of those last second saves for scores right as the clock shot was about to expire were amazing. Great offensive rebounding as well.

They were very quick. Fast to the ball on defense, fast on rebounding and fast going to the basket.

Boise St. players handled the post game interview with class. They did not use the road game as an excuse though the media certainly tried to lead them that way.

If that is the play in game UCLA must be about 4th in the West. As in, ahead of the Spurs.

Told a friend yesterday that I like a Providence matchup but not the one with BSU. Teams that can shoot the three and extend the FLyers defense have been a tough matchup this year.

Just did the same. Keep me posted on the pre-game. Coming over with my daughter, and we're going to pick-up her boyfriend beforehand.

No. Boise should have been @ a 9-seed, and UCLA should have been playing LSU in the play-in (assuming both teams should have been in the tourney at all).

Schedule them for a home and away. . .I like them and I like their coach. Class acts, well coached. Would be a great new rivalry.

Very good sports at the press conference, not as much can be said for the media fellas who chuck up the win to being because we were at home :/ Would love to see us schedule a home and home. If BSU was playing anyone else I would be rooting for them!

It would be nice if we could get a series going with them. If nothing else I am sure they would like a chance at payback

If we could get them and Wichita for a H&H I would be very pleased. How many buy games do we need anyway with all this NCAA money we're getting from the First Round this year and the Elite 8 last year???

I too am now a Boise State fan. Their kids showed a lot of class which is probably a reflection of their coach. Both schools were put in an awful situation because of the gut
less NCAA committee. Shame on them! Never should have happened.

NCAA got what they wanted I think, largest First Four crowd on record, controversy and what not. People will be talking about it tomorrow. When we make the Sweet 16 or better it will continue the pattern of successful at-large teams using the First Round as a springboard.

I love the look on the face of the cheerleader who's right below the woman in the blue blazer. Her expression looks sorta like this:

Agree with the original post that Boise was pure class. They never should have been in this situation. We shouldn't have either. The committee messed up and we should never be able to host a home first four game ever. If tonight didn't prove that, I don't know what will.

A match between a 9 and a 10 tonight. Both deserved to be in the dance.
Good Luck, UCLA.

I'd go so far as to say that we actually saw the first 8-9 matchup of the tourney tonight. But regarding UCLA, I have a slightly different set of words to describe my sentiments (though one of them does rhyme with "luck" ).

I agree with many on the board, UD and Boise need to schedule a home and home asap. I'm still not quite sure how we won that game.

A good game recap from the Idaho Stateman:
Disaster in Dayton: Boise State men's basketball loses in NCAA Tournament
"The only chance I would've had to get (a timeout) was to jump on the court,'' Rice said. "It was so loud … it was futile.''

I agree, the BSU kids and their coaches were first class all the way. However, the only problem with the BSU coach's claim that he tried to call time out as time was expiring but it was too loud for the refs to hear him is, that if you look at the replay, he is standing right next to a ref and he didn't make any move to call or signal for "time"; he just stood there and watched the play unfold.

I love the one Boise fan's assessment, "The strategy to have Marks go 1 on 5 the last 3 minutes played right into the Flyers strategy to defend just that."
And Marks' statement, when asked if he was fouled, "… the ref didn't call it, so I guess not." Classy and truthful.

I couldn't believe how early Boise took the air out of the ball. Killed their offense. I said at the time that it would hopefully bite them, and Kyle made sure it did with his efforts as the shot clock wound down.

He tried with 25-35 seconds left I believe or perhaps possession before Sibert's 3, I saw it and commented to my seat mates.
