Season Tickets Invoices
Does anyone know the status of when invoices will be sent?
Last email I got from UD said it would occur in July?

I’m going to go on the longest payment plan I can this year. No sense letting UD have my $ if there are no fans in the stands...
I’m already forward financing the Dayton Dragons!

According to the Arena ticket office Season ticket invoices are being delayed until they decide if there is going to be a season with or without fans. Stay tuned

If you are a season ticket holder, you should have received an email with a survey which ecplains the options they are looking at.

IMHO... I think people are realizing the 6 months of restrictions, for a virus with a survival rate of 97-99%, are overly excessive.
On top of that, people also see the hypocrisy of these Health and Govt officials allowing hundreds/thousands of people to protest, go to the grocery/pharmacy/the beach/water parks/Kings Island, etc... but says we can't go to church, funerals (unless it is someone famous), or sporting events?
I think most everyone understands the risks, and everyone should be able to make their own decisions (this is not China, Russia, or North Korea).
The university should give those folks over 65, or those with underlying conditions an "opt out" for this year.
This should be each fan's choice, and not forced upon us... I would have no issues signing a waiver, releasing the university of any liability.

The last I saw, the flu (Hepititas B) and pneumonia each average more deaths worldwide per day than Covid-19 does.

In the 2018-2019 flu season, 131 people died in Indiana from the flu. The numbers are not complete yet for the 2019-2020 season, but to date 31 people have died from the flu in Indiana. Since February 2020, 3013 people have died in Indiana from Covid-19. I don’t disagree with your argument for personal choice, but to make the argument that COVID-19 is less deadly than the flu is just not accurate. The rate of infection matters too.

90+% of which were age 60 or older. Likely comparable to the 1957 and 1968 outbreaks when adjusted for total populate and age. Not downplaying, 3000+ deaths is tragic, especially when it targets the elderly, but it's really not much different than a really bad flu year. Less bad than the flu for kids, which die at a much higher rate from the flu than they have from COVID-19

I took the survey, and then showed it to some of my family members.
It was interesting, as each person interpreted each of the questions somewhat differently... most gave their answer based on how the university would interpret the feedback.
So for instance, the question of "if the Arena had to be scaled down to 25% capacity, how likely are you to purchase season tickets?".
Some would say yes, as they want to go to the games no matter what.
Some thought saying yes would mean the administration thinks you are OK with reducing the capacity to 25% (so you should answer no).

If they open to reduced capacity, I certainly hope current students get first priority for all games.

Let's assume capacity is reduced to 25%, which apparently would mean that I could go to only about four games. If I "purchase season tickets" would I be paying for only four games or all games?

Let’s hope the University doesn’t think that season ticket holders would accept paying full price for 1/4 of the product. I mean, given the results of last season, a price increase per game should be expected, but not 300%!

Why? They don't show up for most games anyway. Season ticket holders many of which have been such for generations would be at the top of my list.

What I heard ...
1) If a person goes to 1 game 1 seat (who knows how the number of tickets, the number of games a person will be allowed to go ... due to Covid ... the rules are being decided now)
Then you will pay for 1 ticket.
2) ticket license is completely different, there is no reduction, no per ticket allocation/payment.

People aren't going to like #2. My next question was going to be will they prorate the seat license fee.

I can appreciate this sentiment but I don’t think it will happen. The university needs to fund the athletic department and that comes from season ticket holders licensing fees and ticket sales. The reality is everyone in the seats will be playing premium dollars to be there.
The best I’m hoping for right now is this will be a third of the season (Nov-Dec) restriction. We get a couple vaccines distributed and by January they can start ramping up available capacity. I do believe students will be somewhat towards the top of the list of people who get the first vaccines. Ironically, I don’t thing retired people who are relatively healthy will not be towards the top and will be asked to stay home for a couple more months. That probably makes up a large portion of UD season ticket holders. I think people who need to work will be ahead of them because of the need to get the economy rolling again for the good of everyone.

So that guy that pays a 250 dollar seat license will get the same amount of games as the guy who pays the 1000 dollar seat license and donates thousands to the university every year?
I guess we will see the "fairness" when a headcount of what whales are and aren't at each game based on equivalent ticket allotment.
But what the hell...your ASP check was cashed no problem.

BUMP!
Does anyone know anything about this subject they would be so kind to share?
I see where the Bengals and Browns are now allowed 12,000 fans (approximately 20% occupancy and it's outside)
I'm guessing the best we can hope for is about 2500 fans with social distancing rules applying?

Has UC been allowed fans for football games yet? I know High Schools can have some, but it's mostly limited to family based on the tight restrictions on the amount stadium percentages.

As of two weeks ago UD hadn't applied for the waiver to accept a higher number than the governor was allowing. There was one application done in Montgomery County and it was placed by a high school. That AD was informed by the state that they were the only ones in the county who applied for a waiver for total capacity.
High schools have been given X amount of tickets per game based on seating with a cap. It pretty much gets a participants family in and that's about it. The tickets are given to each participant and they get to hand them out. It has been 2-4 depending on what grade the kid is in and visiting teams get X amount.
Indoor volleyball has been limited across leagues based on venue. Smaller gyms are permitting 2 guest per player and some are asking for the gym to clear between grades. Bigger gyms do not have a cap due to sheer size. It has been 2-6 guests at most places.
Regarding UD, IF fans are permitted, I am willing to bet there are going to be some REALLY ticked off fans as I stated above. Regardless of capacity, those who have paid money in 2020 are not going to like whatever decision UD makes on who can and can't attend games.
I wouldn't get my hopes up to step foot in the arena this year unless this goes away completely.

As all were upset by the pandemic timing that ruined the post season expectations, imagine not being able to experience the final phase of the 'new' arena transformation last year.
Unfortunately, we all have to get with the reality what this new world environment is all about ... it sucks and it will be some time before it all changes back to the way things were ... maybe not quite the same as before but more normal in most everything.

I’m a 20+ year season ticket holder in the lower 300’s. I’ve resigned myself to not seeing the Flyers in person this year. If there is limited capacity allowed at some point, those who pay a much higher seat license than me should get first opportunity. Over many years, they have contributed more to the long term success of the program than I have so it seems to me they should be in the front of the line.

I'm in the same 200 corner section my family has had since 1969-70, my senior year. I also do not anticipate being able to see the Flyers in person. I realize I haven't paid the heavy freight that many others have and while I'll be disappointed, I won't be ticked.
I am sorry for the team and especially seniors who won't get the experience, or full experience, of gameday at UD Arena.

That's fine...reimburse the peasants their money then if that is in fact how they are going to do things.
I have 4 lowers that have been around for 40 plus years and another 2 lowers that I have had for 15 seasons. I also don't expect to be high enough in the pecking order on those seats to get in. I am also a peasant in the scheme of things.
If there is going to be a pecking order that is fine, but that pecking order needs to consider those who won't get to see a game that have already shelled out thousands to sit at home and watch on TV.

If they considered what you have spent in your lifetime on barley and hops at the arena, you would be sitting between Grant and Solomon!

We cover the entire season ticket fiasco somewhere in the latter 2 parts of the zoom with Neil. I will try to get part 2 uploaded tomorrow.

I am sorry for the team and especially seniors who won't get the experience, or full experience, of gameday at UD Arena.

Lifelong, you and I are in somewhat similar boats. I’ve had the same set of three 200-Level corner seats since 1997, but those were my parents’ seats since The Arena opened in 1969, and given that my mom started teaching at UD in 1949, and was the daughter of a highly-decorated high school basketball coach, it’s safe to say our immediate family has probably had season tickets since the Truman Administration.
All that said, I’ve resigned myself to hoping that I get to see 2 games in person this year. My annual “ransom” isn’t high enough to “deserve” much more in the days of big $$$$$ boosters. Sad, but a fact.

Our family has had tickets since 1962. I want the pep band and students to fill every available seat to make sure we properly “welcome” every opponent. After that, UD should live stream every home and away game for free for season ticket holder. Whatever produces the most W’s.
