Dayton will never beat LaSalle by 20 points.......40 maybe but not 20
Lesson for LaSalle.....Don't mess with Archie and the Flyers.

I think revenge and "lessons learned" will play into tomorrow's outcome. I predicted about a 25-point spread in the "Predict the Score" thread, and I'm not changing my prediction. I think home court advantage and pride will spell "Come to Jesus" for LaSalle tomorrow.

A heavy dose of Pollard, not available in Round 1, should significantly alter the outcome.

I'd take the points here. LaSalle will try to slow down the name like they did last time. Hard to beat a team by 20 points with so few possessions, even with superior play. Also Pollard is potentially unavailable again and LaSalle will be playing with some confidence since they beat us last time.

Since 1949-50, UD and La Salle have played 42 times.
In those 42 times the winning victory spread was 20 points or greater a total of 2 times. (Let's call it 3 with a 19 pt victory thrown in there.)
La Salle wins by 24 in 1954. UD wins by 19 in 2001 and by 23 in 2002. All 3 winners were on their home court.
Flyers haven't lost against La Salle at home since 1999, losing 88-74.
But, that is why the game is played on the court, and not on paper.

A 17 point victory in a game that was much, much closer than it should have been or the score would indicate.

It was actually a 15 pt victor. Although not the total blow-out I was hoping for, it's fine with me. A win is a win. I don't know why our guys have had so much trouble beating this dregs-of-the-conference team, but at least we won't have to play them again. Maybe in the A10 tourney, but I don't see LaS winning there either.
On to Fairfax and GM. I'm looking forward to the
Flyer Fan bus trip next weekend. That should be an easy win, but I never assume anything.
Go Flyers!
