Sterling Manley -Recruit

Anyone know much about this guy? Seems like a big target for us. I only saw one highlight video from his freshman year. Doesnt seem to be too highly regarded.

Link above talks about him and has a video. The young man from Pickerington Central (Ohio) is 6'10" and 230 pounds in his latest profile. He is long and lanky, runs the court well, and has a decent free throw stroke.

He must be improving. According to this link he scored 49 points last season. I trust Archie though

He played well at the Flyin to the Hoop tournament recently and received an offer from West Virginia last week. I think this is the 2nd UD game he has been to this year.

Darn Huggins out to steal another one from us. Anyone see Huggins lately? He is looking like Rick Majerus.

Hopefully he is 6"10" with long arms and some jumps. Seeing what Steve has done we need another big project.

I consider what you do against top competition to be most important. I'm less concerned about stats against average Ohio high school teams.

I saw him play at Flyin to the Hoop. His parents sat behind me. They were very supportive of him. Good people. Pickerington did not play an average high school team in the tournament. They played one of those all star team basketball powers. It was a good hard played game.

He was very passive in the first half and picked up a lot in the second half. He has some ex excellent potential. I could see Archie really developing his talents.

I can see why UD and West Virginia made him an offer.

To me, he looks more like the pretty-boy jock from high school whose life didn't turn out the way he wanted it to, so he became a bitter, old drunk. Sound about right?
