Add to that a trip to Bermuda this upcoming season - the scholarships practically sell themselves.

UD will probably have more fans in Bermuda this fall than some of the teams actually playing there

Well, we have absolutely no excuses. We have two excellent tournaments over the next two years. Any wishing waiting or whatever about the NCAA tournament is not needed. We will get in on our own merits we prove we deserve it .

How we do in these 2 events will depend on what happens with the 5 open scholarships.
A lot of unknowns. Expecting quite a few "Welcome to the Family" threads over the next few weeks. Exciting times...

In Atlantis, yes, I think we will take our lumps.
Depending on how the open 'ships get filled (need size), we may be able to hold our own in Maui. Cunningham will be our only (projected) departure from next year's team. We should be a veteran squad going into '19.

One of the bosses had a big presentation in Charleston and when he went to pick up the rental they didn’t have it. He told them he had the reservation number and produced it and when when she looked it up.....she said.......sir this reservation is for Charleston SOUTH CAROLINA your in WEST Virginia
We laughed our butts off.

I don't know about Potential recruits - but when I told my wife and kids we were doing both the Bahamas and Maui - They were really excited. I have to imagine being able to offer 13k fans per home game and tournaments in the Bahamas and Hawaii in your first two years will help tip the scales in our favor for a couple key recruits. Plus the chance to play against Virginia, Kansas, Michigan State, UCLA, and Florida has to be a really nice selling point.

what a turnaround from the past two exempt tourneys we played in. 1 game in 6 against P5/BE competition to potentially 6
Interesting that Chaminade is back in the field. They weren't in it this year and I think every school was getting a 4th Maui on the Mainland game against a buy caliber opponent.

I think they changed things up so Chaminade is in the official field every other year. Hopefully we can avoid playing them, and get three good games!

I'm not sure this is the case. Middle Tennessee lost their coach, several starters including Giddy Potts who was a key guy on their NCAA teams and Nick King the conference player of the year. Butler and Oklahoma could very well be taking a step back with what they're losing. Stanford loses a couple starters and their best player Reid Travis could be a grad transfer.
It's a good field but Virginia could be the only top 25 team. I'd guess Mississippi State would be better than any team outside Virginia depending on what happens this spring

I absolutely would. I'm not complaining. These are just really tough fields. Especially for this coming season... it's going to come early for a bunch of new players.

Vehemently disagree. Good returning core, best recruit since CW coming in, a chance we get a couple of impact grad transfers, all the fat trimmed. i think we can hold our own in Atlantis this year.

Happ will be back for Wisconsin. He's an NCAA stud but he likely doesn't have the game to be impactful in the NBA. Don't see him leaving.

Not sure if we could do this again but with the 2003 Maui trip that we won, we set up a H/H with Pepperdine on the way out there or back. Not sure how that worked out with travel and 4 games out there but that could let us set a H/H series starting with a west coast school

But now, I'm almost just rooting for him to be successful because I know it would personally disappoint udscott.

From this week's AP Poll:
Virginia - 4
Auburn - 11
Miss St - 14
Oklahoma -23
Florida - 38 (tie)
The quality of this year's exempt tournament is beyond reproach.
Add Auburn and Miss St and UD has an excellent OOC strength of schedule.
Butler will be our highest ranked victory, with a chance for VCU to be a close second.

I just talked with the folks at the tournament - they will start bookings sometime next week - they have had issues with their system. Last year they sold out in a day or so the website says. With Kansas, UCLA and Mich St - who all travel well also in the tournament - this is one you will need to book early that first day.

The arena holds 2400. Does it really sell out? Or can you buy tickets later without having to sign up for the hotel package?

If operated like Orlando, Charleston, Bahamas, they have a set number of "package" tickets such as these, which includes tickets to all sessions. But they also set aside tickets for each 2-game session, which means you're only competing with the schools in your "pod" for those tickets. Most tournaments do not sell tickets in increments other than all session or 2-game sessions.

They actually clear the gym after every game in Maui. So the only folks in the gym are the fans of the two teams and the all session fans
