Frankie has earned a 2nd half stint in this one. Can’t see how it’ll do anything but help the fresh legs situation.

OK, Crutch, you tried the 3, and it didn’t go in. Don’t try another until at least the 4:00 mark. Stick with the gameplan. Get it down low.

Love it though. #1 on Fordham plays ten feet off of Landers and he still drove into him and laid it in.

Before the season is out Obi will pick up at least one T for hanging on the rim. He’s gotten away with a few already.

But Cohill is earning his keep on Defense, which is why he’s seen 18 minutes (and counting).

Interesting that even when Westerfield checked in Jordan still ran the point. I guess when Chatman is eligible this will be a moot point.
Cohill was billed as "combo" guard and Jack ran a good bit of point last year if I recall. Clearly JD has surpassed them both permanently.

Sincere Carry, the frosh star with a history of injury, is not playing today for Duq. VCU up by 5 with 7 to go. Frankie Hughes, ex UD recruit with 17 pts for Duq.

Rams have lost 7 games by a combined 22pts this year, not including a 2OT loss and 7pt loss to Bonnie. They have been in every game this year except VCU which beat them by 25. They lost to Saint Louis, Mason, and LaSalle by a combined 8pts heading into today.
This was a very solid effort by Dayton. Aside from the 10 first half TOs and Trey hoisting jumpshots, there isnt much to pick apart. Defense was active, we moved our feet, contested dribble-drive, forced tough shots, didnt send Rams to the foul line, and limited them to one and done on almost every trip. On offense we did what we had to do.
Third A10 road win. Yep its Fordham and they are winless in the A10. But after the Mason loss, this was an excellent bounce-back.

Santos-Silva a beast today for VCU. 20 & 12, and there’s still 3:00 to go.

We avoided a bad win. We needed to thrash this Fordham team and we did. Anything else was unacceptable after Wednesdays debacle.
We should be encouraged by the effort, but we have yet to beat a team above us in the standings. All our wins are largely against bottom feeders in the A10, except for St. Bonawelder on the road who is 3-3, but who is also 7-12 overall. The needle is still pointing sideways for UD. We have a lot to prove.
The schedule gets real dicey from here on.

Defense and rebounding.Josh 11 and Obi 9 . To win the league that has to be every nite.Every game against the top 6 pr 7 will go to the wire.... One play makes the difference in the conference this year. They played hard on D and the glass today.....simply effort.

avoiding bad losses on the road league play is always critical
Team only shot 15 threes and stuck to what they do well offensively.

You can only play the schedule you are given so beating Fordham on the road was the task and we accomplished it and in a decisive manner. So for today we did the best we could given the schedule we had today.

I was ok with 12 turnovers mainly because most of them were caused by aggressive alley oop attempts, not carelessness. Aggressive turnovers, no problem, careless turnovers, big problem. Flyers kept it strong today.
Now, to turn that into a trend and go on a win streak!
