UD wins set 1 25-19. Like to see this second set at 15 or less points for Syracuse. They went on a 3 point run at the end of set 1.

Kray has 4 aces -- that's a career-high... and counting???

Z has 2 blocks.

UD wins 25-10 and are up 2-0. UD had 90%+ sideout percentage. Only once did they score off their serve. It was aided by 3 or more service aces -- but none-the-less and excellent stat.

Just ran Sheff's pre-game interview. He said Syracuse is leading the nation in blocks/set. They have ZERO against us. That's a combination of Sam making great setting choices, the hitters playing smart and hitting around the blocks and our defense covering our hitters and digging out any blocks they put up.

Sweep (25-13 in 3rd). Syracuse finally got a block on us late in the 3rd. 85% sideout in 3rd. Sheff said in post-game that Syracuse made adjustment to Kray and they countered with her hitting the hard cut shot and they just kept going to it. Also Hammer on the slide was open all day.

Both Freshmen Brigid Campbell and Rachel Jones got in the 3rd set. Sheff said they have to get "Jonesy" playing more agressive defensively. She is over anyalizing things, they she will get past that and she can be really, really good. She had 3 digs in not a lot of minutes. Brigid had 1 kill on 2 swings.

Other than starting a bit slow, we did exactly what we wanted. Short games and got off the court against a team we should have short games and get off he court quickly with. Mission accomplished.

This is where the brutal last five games help. The game slows down for the players.

You cannot ask for anything more than that. 85% sideout percentage is awesome.

I've watched Brigid in warmups. She has the hops to be a good outside hitter. I don't think she hits with a lot of power yet but that can be greatly improved.
