SLooooo Away Thread
Set 1 - 25-22 Flyers. Nursed an early lead all the way through.
Set 2 - 25-19 Flyers. Much like the first set.

Flyers Sweep
Set 3 - 28-26 - Down 13-17 and came back to go up 24-22, fell behind 24-25 and eventually put it away.

Nice Win!
St Louis held Xavier to .158 hitting percentage and in two sets they held them to .130
Let's hope Samantha is ok

The Flyers have been waiting all year for a confidence building win like this against a tough opponent and in an unfamiliar environment. That set 3 was the set UD just couldn't win against Xavier last week. UD had a few nice comebacks, had a lead at the end and were able to fight for the win. I think this UD team just got very dangerous. They have a rather unassuming resume but now are truly starting to understand what they are capable of. A-10 Championship next week. These girls are ready.

Just wanted to add this link to the UD post game video to the thread. Ally Morey mentions that the 3rd set was important for the team heading into the A-10 Championship since they fought and battled as a team. Additionally, really enjoyed coach picking on ally at the end of the interview.

What has gotten lost is the Sloo win was it was one of the best wins of the entire season, so says the RPI. The Bills might have 11 losses but their RPI remains very good. Maybe second best win to Houston. Right now if we don't win the A10 tourney, we may need to beat the Irish to feel secure.

May even be the best win given SLU's home court advantage and the rivalry as opposed to the Houston neutral match.
I think it may have gotten lost due to the proximity to the A-10 tourney, its location in Saint Louis fairly far from UD, with a lack of too many SLU fans as compared to how packed Frericks is, and just its position at the end of a conference schedule UD dominated. It's tough to think of that as a big match when the A-10 Tournament is right around the corner. Without any huge wins the importance of the automatic bid helped to overshadow this match.

I'm concerned that if we don't win the A10 tourney, we are on the bubble for an at-large bid. Even beating Notre Dame. I've got us at 42, a loss is going to drop us to the high 40s, I would think. Notre Dame is at 15-11 and RPI 58, with their first round Big East Tourney game against Syracuse, who they just lost to 3-1. Beating Notre Dame, after losing in the A10, may not be enough.
We dropped from 37 to 40 after beating La Salle. Then to 42 after beating Saint Louis. An A10 Tourney loss will be devastating.
All my opinion...

Official NCAA RPI has us at 39. Although we played some good teams close early in the season, we have no top-50 wins. I agree - don't want to get thrown into the at-large discussion with an RPI around 40.
