Defense, defense, defense.
Dayton gave up like 1.20 points per possession (top 10 offensive teams in the country score 1.20 points per possession) to the #226 offensive team in the country. I cannot describe how challenging it is to play defense this poorly.

At some point, you have to question where the disconnect is on D. I mean it's mind-boggling, how poor they are. You can cover up some bad D with good O, but tonight, the O was awful and the D was completely exposed.

Defense was terrible! AG should just put the **** tape of the St. Bonaventure game in and demand the same effort be put forth in each game. I can't believe we locked up both Jaylen Adams and Matt Mobley! They would both score 30 if we played them today!

IMRO, the minutes played and pressure placed on our starters - game after game after game - is taking it's toll both defensively and mentally. Because of injuries, Fordham is a mess and we got them at home, so hopefully the Big5 (our starters) can get some much needed rest and relief while My Flyers earn a much needed win.
FWIW, I voted for defense....but the problems are much deeper.

Defense.
If anyone recorded this game (pity you), watch and pay close attention to the bench players when they enter the game. Pick one: JC, XW, KA, MS (to a lesser extent). Within seconds there's a blown assignment on defense and a starter (Josh, DD) has to pull the sub aside and explain their assignment. In most cases, the end result (missed box out, uncontested layup) exposes a player that is not the guilty party, but deemed at fault do to poor rotation, switching, not switching, etc.

The way Polls are posted, you have to start the thread and add the Poll...so there is always a 2-3 minute gap where the post is up but the Poll is still being typed.
I'll forward your complaint to Miss Hancock*, my royal secretary, and tell her to type faster...or suffer a royal spanking. Which, in reality, might slow things down because she's kinda into that stuff!

Fordham
plays much better defense than Dayton and will treat the sellout to a win over the Flyers who have quit on their coach.

Fordham is an injury depleted team ripe for a royal spanking by My Flyers.
Good story here...In the past month, due to injuries, Fordham promoted one of their team managers to a practice player...and after another injury asked if he'd be interested in being a '18-'19 walk-on...until further injuries pushed things forward to where he is now actually dressing for the team!
Why is this a good story? Because he's the son of an '87 UD grad whose whole family had already planned on coming to the game to see him as manager! Now they get to see him as a player. BTW, he never played HS varsity basketball...he's just a great athlete and hard worker.

And even when the bench was not nearly as putrid earlier in the year the defense was not good. Freshman starters, 2-3 terrible defenders returning from last year, a few guys out, and almost ZERO post players logging minutes outside of one guy will cause that..

And they have 1 less win than us in the league!
In a down A10 year, Dayton has the talent to compete in the top 4 and are clearly underachieving. That falls on coaching.

I did not get to watch the game because I was at the PC/Villanova game (great atmosphere and big upset) and it was not on TV in my area so no DVR. Therefore I voted for Refs, aliens, Russians and global warming because my Flyers couldn't have played that bad otherwise.
BTW I thought Matej Svoboda was from the Czech Republic not Russia...
