New university website and logo

Just happened to go to the main UD website this afternoon and was greeted with a new website and chapel logo. Would be interested in what others think, but I for one was not impressed. First off, it does not show correctly if you use Internet Explorer. You must use Chrome or FireFox to see all the screens correctly. That said, it looks second rate and has no character. The black borders on the side make it look dark and uninviting even though "Let It Shine" is plastered on the screen. The new logo looks ok, but if this was my first impression of the university, I don't think I'd be back.

It's nice to know that UD made the Top 20 list (#18) for 'COOL SCHOOLS'...too bad it isn't for Dayton-2-Daytona or St. Patrick's Day or Christmas on Campus...

...instead it's for Global Warming and Sustainability initiatives...

https://udayton.edu/news/articles/20...ol_schools.php

"The University of Dayton is ranked No. 18 on Sierra magazine's "Cool Schools" list for displaying "a deep and thorough commitment to protecting the environment, addressing climate issues and encouraging environmental responsibility."

My guess is N2663R = Initials (NR) with birthdate in between (02/06/1963)

How can you not at least test the front page under multiple browsers?

I spent 50 years in the computer business. How can these folks be so sloppy? Just total incompetence. I am embarrassed for my profession and for my university.

Chris is correct. "63 Romeo" Our family had a Cessna 182. When we sold the plane the new owner changed the tail number and it now belongs to a kit built plane. Side note - my younger brother got his pilot's license before he got his drivers license - mom had to drive him to the airport for his flying lessons!

My father was a naval aviator flying missions off an aircraft carrier in the Korean War and he didnít have a drivers license either!

Worked fine for me on firefox, chrome and a mobile browser.

Not a fan at all of the design though. The outline/background gradient looks like something out of a 1990s website

Pretty lame if you ask me. About as exciting as watching a slow website loading!

#1 in research but definitely not when it comes to digital media or for that matter streaming sport events.

Maybe they reduced tuition and had to go with a cheaper web master.

Sorry UD soaring to new heights doesn't get you to this level of web sighting.

Yes, Aidan is Dan's son. He conveniently worked at the design firm that created the "new" Flyers logo that caused a stir. So fast forward to today's new UD logo and web design which prompted my rather snarky comment/question.

The last report I heard is that Dan Curran is recovering and doing as well as can be expected.
