OMG, Terrible Team, Fire Everyone
UD just beat a team that was 12-4, 2nd in the A10, in the Top 100, and on the road in a tough place to play. The way they won presented some problems, but EVERYONE would have signed up for that score this morning. All that and then no less than 4 new threads thrashing the Flyers.
I am not wearing rose colored glasses, just trying to enjoy the ride. Do you know how many Division 1 teams would trade places with us right now? 15-3, top 10 RPI, 2nd in A-10, great coach, strong talent, and the opportunity to improve considerably. I would say that makes at least 320 team's fans that would take our lot.
Relax - this team is far from EMBARRASSING.
Go Flyers!

We aren't as good as we showed in the first half and we aren't as bad as we were in the 2nd. Chalk up a victory and move on.

If this was just one game I'd agree. This is becoming a pattern and it's not because this 12-4 opponent is that good, they are crap and you and everyone else knows that their cookie schedule got them there. Fouling in the final 3 minutes when you're up by double digits has become a pattern and it will hurt us at the most inopportune time, mark my word. This team has been handed blessings. Blessings that this stuff happens during wins. But if they continually don't address it, wait until we blow a 20 point lead in the dance. Then let's see what you post.

Someone needs to tell the rankings people they aren't that good. KenPom has them at #89 and has stated that a team is 50 spots better at home, so that would be like us playing Gonzaga neutral. You need to really look at what happened and realize that this was a good win. As far as learning from other games, they did this against Arkansas and completely lost the lead AT HOME. Here they never gave up the lead and won ON THE ROAD. So I would say they are improved on this point.

Yes, you're correct, they are so good, we shouldn't bat an eye that they scored 61, that's sixty-one, that's SIXTY-ONE, points against the Flyers in the 2nd half. Yes, any good team should be able to put that up on us when we're just playing a good game.
61 freakin points????? Please explain how that's just a normal thing for a team like St. B to pull off against us?

Great win, beating a top 100 on the road in incredibly difficult. If you told me going in Dayton would win by 6, I would take it in a nanosecond.
But Dayton needs to learn to put opponents away. Up 24 with 8 minutes to go, no excuse for the mental lapses the last 8 minutes.

Yep, if we could've just held them to 50 points in the 2nd half, we would've won by 17. But some here will tell you that's too much to ask because St. Bonnie at home is equal to Gonzaga

I think what bothered me more than the 61 points is that we didn't attack the press (maybe the one time KP dunked on it)- other than that we looked weak, tired with poor spacing. You need to burn that press a few times to call it off; we never really did it.

Yep..And there were things that dictated that well beyond the Bonnies efforts...Crosby played a terrible game and bad enough to the point that AM never put him back in the game which forced Scoochie to play most of that 2nd half, dog tired....That's easy to do dribbling the ball up the court with no pressure and waning down the shot clock but not with a very athletic team that turned the press on almost the entire time..

Agreed ... they looked bad against that press ... dribbling into corner and double team and looking lost as to what to do with the ball ... and it isn't the first time they looked that way this year ...
Archie needs them to practice on this more and more ... maybe the practice opposition is not very good using the press?

Oh no, we had a 32 point lead and only won by 6. #FirstWorldProblems
Sorry, I've watched UD crap the bed on the road enough that it's hard to get too worked up when they win and look dominant for stretches in doing so. If our biggest problem this season is hanging on to 20 and 30 point leads, I'll learn to live with that.

The announcer said twice that the Bonnies' coach was afraid of Dayton getting out to a big 1st half lead. My fear, and I'd guess 75% of Flyers fans too, was a 2nd half comeback by the Bonnies, after building said lead. Some of their shots in the 1st half were horrible. I felt it was enough to make us relax and abandon the penetration and settle for threes after we had built the 31 pt. lead. With them getting hot in the 2nd half just brought their horrid 1st half shooting % back within season margins. Pretty close to the most likely scenario played out if you ask me. We won.

The first time that Crosby goes into a game in the first half to give Scoochie a breather I make it a point to watch him and I can immediately tell if it should be a short stint or a much longer stint. In the games he plays well he plays within the offense and lets the game come to him. He doesn't turn the ball over, throw errant passes or take hurried shots!
Against St. Bonaventure he did all three of the above. It doesn't take much to change the momentum of the game sometime and turnovers are usually the main culprit! Archie may have to use Darrell Davis at point guard to spell SS when JC is having one of those games.

Define a foul

What is a foul this season? Since when can a defender run into the back side of an offensive player who is holding the ball (Pierre) and have the call go against the offensive player? The defender didn't establish position and have Pierre pivot or throw an elbow. He ran into Pierre and put his arms around him. How are you supposed to play against those kinds of calls?
Don't even get me started on the "lower your head and force contact" BS that is getting called.
Baby D's pushing off foul (flop) on the inbound was a joke. The defender first was holding him and second flopped badly.
Scootchie got called for brushing against a ball handler's forearm 35 feet from the basket.
I have no idea what KD's 5th foul was. He got beat down the lane and didn't even attempt to go for the block. By his expression, I don't think he even knew the foul was on him initially.
Honestly, how do you not get called for fouls short of playing matador defense and letting the bull run to the hoop. Imagine the outcry if we played D like that.
From start to present, this has been the most inconsistent season of officiating that I have ever witnessed. Some games are becoming un-watchable. It's one thing when a foul in November isn't called in February and March, but we're seeing fouls being called differently from the first minute of the game to the start of the 2nd half.

The officiating got ridiculous and swept away by the emotion of the gym. There were some very mysterious calls in the 2nd half. I don't blame our team for getting back on its heels after a number of them. Nothing will get you gun-shy faster. The guy who ran into Pierres butt might be the funniest in retrospect. Archie had good reason to be upset with the officials when the game ended.

_avier was in the bonus last night with 13 mins remaining in 2nd half vs GTown. There have been countless games like that across the country. At one point during a game the color commentator (don't recall his names) said officials were hit with something like 25 rules changes this season. Huh?
