Pierre's free throws were awesome, but gotta go with Sanford for the game winner. The CBS color guys dubbed it 'the kiss'... a play that's going to be remembered for a long time. Although hopefully the next NCAA win will be just a couple days away instead of 5 years from now. (Or 19 like it was from Negele to Wright.)

I rarely vote in the poll, but a go to guy at the end of close games has been a glaring weakness for the Flyers this year. That shot, under unreal pressure was absolutely amazing!

I gotta go with a write-in vote and select the NCAA "March Madness Live" app as it allowed me to see that fantastic game while at work!!!

Sanford, for the shot we desperately needed for all the Flyer Faithful wherever they live. This helps balance the St Joes screwing, the phantom call in Tucson in the NCAA's a decade ago.
We got a break playing in Buffalo. If that game was in Columbus, Craft shoots 2 free throws and beats us. We got a neutral site non-call at the end and we earned it.

Hard to pick between DP and VS, but you gotta go with Vee, I think... Scoring against the scrappiest player in the history of the world according to, well, everyone.

Vee definitely showed his brass (x2) with that shot, but Pierre showed all three pieces of his wedding tackle knocking down those free throws.

in addition Pollard gets a lot of minutes ... and plays very well. His minutes today were not a response to foul trouble.

The entire team and coaching staff. And the bar owner who could've easily thrown me out for dancing around and yelling at the top of my lungs when Craft's shot rolled off the rim.

OMG! It was a total package. Can't single anyone out! Just the best game, maybe even better than beating WVU 5 yrs ago. I watched that game in the concession area of the arena and didn't watch the game I paid for, lol.

That's not accurate. 26 seconds of play left. IF Pierre only makes one, Craft doesn't go to the bucket because OSU is ahead. Then the parade of free throws starts and OSU is only shooting 67% from the line. The lead could have changed 3 time in that span.

I am going with Vee Sanford, he drove on the best defender in the Big Ten and possibly nation and got a step on him and banked the winner.
Kudos also to the players who stood their ground when Craft sped up the floor for the last second shot. I believe Craft was trying to make contact and draw a foul but the refs weren't buying it.

Have to feel great for Vee. He transferred to ud in the hopes of doing more in basketball than appeared possible at his previous school Then he hits the winning shot in a tournament game which is obviously something he will never forget

35 set the tone for the game and softened up the middle. He showed the weakness of OSU of not having a big solid body in the middle. Hats off to the entire team, but Vee deserves the award. He was due, and it came at a good time.

OK I'll change my statement.....If Pierre doesn't make the 3 free throws, Vee may not have gotten the opportunity to make the last second shot.
More importantly, we're down 1 and Pierre Steps up to the line with 26 seconds in the game and makes 3 straight free throws with a completely confident look in his eyes!

This video shows that Craft leaned into the Dayton defender, so the no-call was easy. This is a better angle to see that, and is closer to what the refs saw.

I can't exactly not vote for everyone who played and coached in the game, because everyone showed the courage, and although V's shot was crucial, it was Pierre's three free-throws, and The Big Fella setting the stage both offensively and defensively in the first half, that changed everything OSU did or did not do. From where Kav was back in November, compared to the last seven weeks, that is the difference in the season. If Kav is going to score 8-12 points, get a handful of rebounds, dominate space, have two assist per game, make some free-throws, and hit outside 10-15 footers, well, it's hard telling just how far UD could go with MK performing like that. This UD team is getting very hard to guard. I don't even think UD played their fullest or best game today. Let's hope that is still to come.
GO FLYERS BEAT CUSE!

It was a big team effort, but I had to vote for Vee. His name goes down in UD history permanently for creating and hitting that shot under crushing pressure in one of our biggest games in 20 years and against the supposedly best defender in the Big Ten. He is in the books and etched in our minds in the same way the Ed Young is. Monster shot. Historic shot for UD fans.
This is a much bigger surprise to the national media than it is to most Dayton fans IMO. We beat Ohio State type BCS teams regularly. I absolutely believe it when Vee says this was just another game to him. The national press can't believe that it is true. It's the stage of the NCAA Tournament that forces everyone to take notice and take it to heart. The disbelief is a indicator of national perception changing a little bit. UD has been doing this for a long time outside of the national spotlight.

You posted exactly what I have been thinking the past 5 days. I have OSU folks texting saying that UD has nothing to lose, etc. But that's just not true, UD had everything to lose yesterday. This game, and the subsequent win, meant just as much, and likely more, to The University of Dayton, than it did to tosu.

Voted for Vee on the basis of "Son of 'The Shot'", but could have voted for:
-DP for having the stones to attempt the 3, and then knock-down the freebies when he had to;
-MK for scoring 9 big ones in the first half to keep us in the game and set the tone;
-The guys who guarded Craft all day long and hounded him into all those turnovers;
-Arch and the coaches, for having (a) the cojones to pound the ball inside in the first half, (b) the wisdom to adjust in the second half to defend what tOSU was running on offense, and (c) the faith in a 5th year Senior to call an "iso" play to let him do what he does best (drive & shoot the floater) when the game and season were on the line.
A great (and, dare I say, legendary) win!
GO FLYERS!!
BEAT SYRACUSE!!
