Richmond Thread
Finally, A-10 tourney time. The one day of the year I miss the now defunct American Sports Network for TV coverage of the Friday games. Channel 45 in Dayton carried games in the past.

Six turnovers in the first period is not good though the Spider star Parson has five herself.

16-15 Spiders at end of Q1.
Too many turnovers- 6
Again failed to hold for last shot of quarter and almost cost us. Why, why, why?

16-15 Richmond, as we are plain awful. Harris misses another wide open layup at the buzzer. Jenna in a huge funk 0-2 and 1-2 on free throws with 2 turnovers.

Interesting that Phillips has not played. Not that I want her to, but I thought maybe Shauna would try to rest our guards some in game one and two.

If they are comfortable in the fourth quarter I'd like to see on the court Szabo, Dennis, Phillips, Ward and take your pick.

Richmond loves to reach and hack. The refs not calling much today.
Jenna struggling and looks tired. Why not rest her a bit?

This transmission is a joke. The video is behind the audio, and they have the wrong score many times on the screen.

#30 is a jerk. She just leg whipped Lauren. That is about the fourth time she has done something dirty to Lauren or Jenna.

For a while I was worried this might be the kiss of death post.
Won it at the line- 26 -31 for 84%. Richmond shot only 34% but still had more field goals than we did. 15 turnovers a bit too many.

Ugly but a win is a win. There was a lot of minutes for our starters. Tomorrow's a new day and hopefully we are hitting on all cylinders then.

Looking ahead I'd prefer a GW match up - just feel match up better against them than GM and having to deal with Butler in the post though neither team is very athletic.

As long as she can play bump and grind defense on Butler in some double team situations as well her offense is not a priority.

I couldn't watch the game, but was looking at the live stats. What happened to draw the dual technicals with 15 secs left that fouled out Jayla?

Richmond player fumbled the ball away at the top of the circle. Cannatelli grabbed the ball and was then grabbed and tackled to the floor by the Richmond player. Players gathered quickly and Scaife sort of "bumped" into a Richmond player. Pretty innocuous from what I could see.

This is my take after watching live and about four replays. With 15 seconds to go Lauren goes for a loose ball near mid court. The Richmond player, Fee, who has tried to intimidate a couple Dayton players earlier in the game, including Lauren, hooks Lauren's arm attempting a flop and foul. Fee flops. Fee then leg whips Lauren knocking her down, and gets up and goes after Lauren. After about 10 minutes of review, the refs call a technical on Fee. The TV people never mention a T on Jayla, nor could I see what she did, but she may have called Fee's mother something bad.

Burdette moves into 14th place in career scoring with 1314 -- needs 23 to move into 13th (Michel Kruty, 1337).
Needs 66 to move into top 10.

Amazing stat, we were 26-31 for 84% on free throws, and all were from our top four players.
