Sean Miller's Favorite Place to Play
I just read in an USA Today article that Sean Miller's Favorite place to play is:
"UD Arena. Just a great atmosphere for a Xavier-Dayton game."
I'm not sure whether to take this as a complement or an insult...

If you can read then you should take it as a compliment.
"UD Arena. Just a great atmosphere for a Xavier-Dayton game."

I may have misspoken slightly as I underestimated our performance at home against Mr. Miller... I guess i can't get the road losses out of my mind...
Anyway, my point is this: Sean Miller has come into UD areana w/ Xavier 8 times, and Xavier has won half of those games... If he comes into UD Arena and gets trounced every year, I honestly don't think that he would say his favorite place to play is @ UD...
I would be much happier if it was his least favorite place to play... wouldn't you???
Come on...

At least Miller admits that UD Arena trumps the Cintas Center. That is a step forward for all of Xavier fandom.

Okay in all fairness, was the question where is your favorite place to play or your favorite place to play away from home. Big difference.

Wouldn't this post be considered "insulting" or "abusive" to another poster?

This is the exact "quote" from the article:
"Favorite place to play?
UD Arena. Just a great atmosphere for a Xavier-Dayton game"
assuming that the bold is the reporter and the non bold Miller...
Regardless of favorite place to play or favorite place to play away from home, i don't like it... the more i think about it the more it ****es me off...
our rivals should absolutely dread coming into the decibel dungeon for a game...
and at the very least they should feel it's irrelevant...
but to have your rivals place be your favorite place to play???

You are getting it all wrong. The reporter did not exclude Cintas Center in the question, and Miller is slighting his own home court where fans are known to regularly boo the coach and players.
This is the first admittance from anyone associated with Xavier that UD has a better facility and fans.

But he never played at UD Arena...
I'm more concerned with this quote: "The Cincinnati Reds, their CEO is Bob Castrolene, who is also on our board."
I hope that was the author's mistake and not Miller's. It's Bob Castellini. Probably should know one of your top bosses.

I think Miller is jealous of BG and is just buttering up our new AD so he can get BG's job someday.

I think Miller is an honorable guy and was sincere about UD/X in the Arena.
A little different than the response one might get from Digger or Huggy. I don't think they were comfortable in Dayton.

I agree with SDF, people are reading into this too much. Miller is a class act.

I don't think it was anything other than a compliment about how great the college basketball atmosphere is at UD Arena. I remember during the Pacers-Knicks rivalry in the 90s when Reggie Miller said his favorite place to play was Madison Square Garden. Who can forget the game where Reggie scored 8 points in the last 20 seconds to win the game? That was sweet, as I hated the Knicks because of Patrick Ewing. But I digress. I think what the Millers (Sean and Reggie) were getting at is that nothing matches the electricity of playing in a hostile environment against an intense rival.
For my money, the only thing that will come close this season to 13,000 Dayton fans screaming their heads off while beating _avier will be the deafening silence of 10,000 dejected _avier fans as the Flyers sweep the series. Go UD!

If you consider Dustin Dow as a connection with Xavier, he also said the best place to watch a game, or at least the best home court atmosphere in the A10, was UD Arena (oh, wait, is that another thing you all doing want to hear from an "_avier" fan?).
Take it as a compliment, for those who are wondering. As said earlier, Sean really is a class act. Ran into him a couple times over my 4 years here in Cincinnati and each time he's always had time to stop and talk for a minute or so. I'm sure BG is the same way for you all, and if so, I think it's a real positive step for the A10 to not only have talented coaches, but to have charismatic ones as well.
