Ole Miss Game Thread
Let's end the non-con on a great note and get another BCS Scalp!
Time to play with fire and enthusiasm... We need to make some shots and not turn the ball over.
Welcome Back Luke!
Let's go Flyers! Go UD!

The WHIO stream is usually pretty bad, even on a small computer screen.
Have her try the standard UD stream:

Not a bad start. If KD can be a little more selective with his shot we'd be up 4.

Well, they're either going to be tied or up by 1 depending on what MK does with the FT.
That was a horrible attempt

Come on, Kevin D., you don't have to fire up those quick threes. We are so much more effective getting the ball inside...keep it in the paint!

Kavanaugh hacked on his first shot. Then a nice feed and a great move to the hoop.

It's hard to shoot for a high percentage when the shot selection has been as poor as it has so far. We need to be more patient on offense.

Kav was looking for a cut to the rim and didn't get it. He then forced a bad shot. I think they are missing Josh already.

That bad pass was the direct result of the two bad three pointers KD took earlier.
This time the wide open three would've been a good shot to take, instead he throws the bad pass.

We need him the rest of the season.
Why is he in the game if there's any doubt about the knee at all?

I care WAY more about Benson's knee then the outcome of this game. If we lose this game, the season is still salvageable. If we lose Benson, it is not.

Agree, we are too quick to fire those up. Archie needs to put an end to the hasty, well defended threes.

Nice shot at the buzzer for 3 by CJ
At some point talent as to outweigh hustle--Oliver hustles, just not sure he has the mental toughness or the talent to play consistently well

This has got to be the silliest decision I've ever seen a trainer/coaching staff make; a guy goes down hard and has to be carried off the court and then 5 minutes later he's back in with a knee brace on and clearly not moving as well - then goes down AGAIN? What were they thinking? With what's at stake, no way does JB go back in until he's cleared with an MRI. This was just crazy stupid in my opinion...

AM said recently that by the end of the season DO might be the most improved player on the team. I don't think he is as low on talent as you think. With that said, his play at the end of the half was plain bad.

Yes, for the out-of-towners, Josh just had a wonderful pre-recorded interview at half-time with Nancy Wilson. It certainly makes you proud to support young men like Josh. I just hope he is healthy enough to return and continue to blossom. He has come a long, long way since I saw him as a junior in high school. He has learned to be much more aggessive in the paint and even learning to put the ball on the floor. He still has a lot of upside in my opinion...we haven't seen him at his best...just as long as that left knee is OK.

I'm OK with DO and what he brings (a lot of which goes unmentioned, like rebounding); remember he's only a Soph with not too much playing time under his belt. I see his progress already. The most important thing a player can bring is his attitude and wanting to get better.

Have to admit, no one on this team has shown any consistency.

How about the fact that Dayton took 17 more shots than Ole Miss--and they are up only 5?

Mike Hartsock just reported that Josh Benson is finished for the night and will have an MRI in the morning. I am not a physician, but it seems unlikely now that he has a torn ACL, given the fact that he came back. I am hoping for just a sprain. Maybe a doctor could reply.

Mike Hartsock reported that Josh "passed all the tests" in the tunnel. So hopefully it's just a sprain.

Luke didn't get a good catch of the ball before he let loose witht he three. One thing about Luke, he certainly isn't afraid of shooting the three, including when he is not on with it.

Chris Johnson is on fire at this point. But we really miss Josh under the hoop on both ends of the court. Time for Kavs and Gav to step it up.

Parker never met a shot he didn't like. Fortunately, that shot liked him

Chris Johnson, maybe? That "flight club" really came in handy on defense and rebounding. We have to rely more on positioning and foot movement than we did in the past.

Ugly 3 attempt by PW there. Far too long and contested.

Now down to five. They are going to the hoop every time down court now. We need some help on the penetration.

Matt is trying to do a little too much with the ball. The defender forced him to the baseline and Matt was just not quick enough to beat him to the line. Josh may have been a cut man prior to the move by Kav had he been in the game.

He's also been faked out 3 times on the same type of play
