Some year-end stats
Some of our players would have been pretty high on the national stats list for the year:
Dillard ranked 6th in the nation in free throw shooting at 89.4%. His A10 percentage
of 92.9% would have been 2nd in the nation.
Benson's 56.6 % for field goals would have put him #23 in the nation, but he was a few attempts short of qualifying. His 58.8% shooting in the A10 would be good for #9 in the nation.
Pierre's 47.1% 3pt shooting for the season would have led the nation with enough attempts.
Worth a mention is his 50% 3pt shooting in the A10. If he doesn't make FOY, it's probably because the Flyers underachieved as a team. But if he is not on the first team All-Frosh, they should stop giving the award. 10pts/gm, 6rbs/game, 57% shooting, second on the team in minutes at 31/gm, and 16/16 starts.

Re: Pierre
He is arguably the best freshman in the A10, period. I don't see how he could not be on the first-team all freshman squad.

I think Semaj Christon will give him a run for his money for ROY.

I agree but also Colter of Duquesne has to be in the running.

Scored but not efficiently as Pierre has. Low shooting percentages and a lot of turnovers.

What are Christons shooting %? I would think they aren't even close to DP.

Yes, you need to take into consideration scoring effiency. If you take 25 shots a game but only score 15, that's not nearly as impressive.

Christon has shot really well for a guard (over 45%).

I really like DP but he is not on Semaj Christon's level even wtih Christon's less than stellar outside shooting. Semaj Christon will be A10 Freshman of the year and rightly so.

not great but he doesn't shoot many. He shoots a really high percentage inside the arc and gets a ton of fouls shots.

Not having the ability to hit 3's is a huge problem for a pg. Christon is an excellent open court player and is a good slasher and short jump-shooter, but he is not a complete package right now.

We are not a good defensive team. Against us Christon was 11/32 from the field, with 8 turnovers and 5 assists. Guess maybe we saw his bad games, but he sure wasn't impressive but definitely showed athleticism.
