Dillard MVP
http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/...ers-mvp/nWnbS/
I guess he's the best choice...
But I was hoping somehow that Pierre could have gotten a co-MVP...he earned it!
Interesting that Josh left the award dinner without any hardware. Typically I though seniors at least got the Spirit Award...but that went to Vondrehaar.

As much as I like Pierre and as much as KD has frustrated us at times, we really would be hurting without him. I think Archie said something to the effect of him providing a bridge in this transition.

KD deserves MVP.
Next year will be interesting. I'd say Pierre is the leading candidate, but Sanford is the leading returning scorer, and DMO could honestly average 10-12 rebounds per game next year if he focuses solely on rebounding and doesn't spend any more time outside the 3-point arc. And Siebert is a highly touted unknown who could surprise us.

I think a lot of folks jump on the bandwagon of new players
(i.e. Pierre) and dump on the team leaders (i.e. Dillard) expecting them to never make a mistake....becasue they are Sr.
I agree 100% tht Piere had an awesome first year.......but let his body of work develope before we, as some have, worry about him leaving after his Jr. year for the NBA.
Surrounded by more talent, KD would, in my book, rank up there with N. Knight as one of the top 2 PGs in UD history. He gave it his best - and he is not done!!

Congratulations to Kevin
Congratulations to Kevin Dillard on a well deserved MVP award. He rescued the UD program from the Staton mess. He could not overcome the Kavenaugh mess through no fault of his own.

I cannot even imagine how bad and ugly this team would have been without KD the last 2 years. If there's ever been a player or PG that put the team on his back its KD. I hope he gets a chance to showcase his talents to the basketball world a few more weeks in college and then beyond. Not sure if he has the body for NBA but no doubt he'll play pro ball someplace and make some $$ there. There should have been no doubt who the MVP was this year.

It's too bad Dillard and Wright never got to play together.

Ummm, where is Johnny Davis on this list? He's still the best that I've seen at UD.

He probably is under 35 years old; clearly Johnny D. is THE BEST - by far -PG to ever wear a Flyer uniform. What Negele Knight did his 2nd half of the senior year, Johnny D. did every GAME of his career. And actually, now that i think about it, I'd have to say KD was better than Nigele since Nigele wasn't a consistent performer until late in his career. You can also add Kevin Conrad to the mix as one of the greatest Flyer PG's ever. Sedric Toney and KD compare very favorably....Sedric had several NBA years and was a solid PG for UD.

Negele vs. KD, that's a tough one. I think I'd give the edge to KD also as had he played on a team that gelled like NK's did his senior year, he'd have been thought of as just as great. Also, he only had one season here to prepare for his senior year.
Gotta give Toney the nod over KC. Toney turned out to be the missing link to turning this team into a NCAA tourny team. One year with Velvet, the next without him.

I know they were playing out of position, but Brian Roberts also played point guard for us... I'd put him above KD or Negele. And so did Ramod Marshall... maybe not quite up there with the rest, but worth a mention.

Negele Knight had major injuries during his sophomore and junior year. He was finally healthy his senior year and it showed.
Brian Roberts and Kevin Dillard are both great offensive players and very poor defensive players. If Dillard does not make the NBA, it will be becuase of his defense.

KD/Brob ?
Right now? I remember similar comments 5-6 years ago about another UD point/2 guard who got his first NBA start last night and contributed 9 assists, 9 points and zero turnovers in over 40 minutes on the floor!
