I'm really looking forward to lacrosse becoming more of a focus at UD. Here's hoping they are giving out full ride scholarships for a men's team in five years when my oldest will be headed off to play collegiately.

UD announced the Lax program as it prepared for entry into the Bi East. Sentiments changed within the BE and the program was shelved as BE does not want to expand as originally thought and many don 't want Dayton if it does expand.
Personally would love to see LAX anyway BE or not. And I am perfectly content being one of the top dogs in most every athletic program in the A-10 creating new rivalries.
Old timers quest for the BE comes from our former rivals who were independents like us but we have all moved on. Honestly don't miss X all that much. As for the admin, they want in the BE to be with other Catholic Universities, but alas the Jesuits don't want the Marian school.

Speaking of LAX, watched UNC score 7 goals in the three minutes, or so to come from a 17-10 deficit to beat ND 17-15. Not a real big fan but found the ND collapse to be interesting. It was for the ACC championship.

“Ongoing conference realignment coupled with the Atlantic 10’s decision to sponsor the sport of men’s lacrosse has created a challenging dynamic for the Northeast Conference men’s lacrosse membership,” Morris stated. “We are disappointed that the NEC will not sponsor the sport in 2022-23, but we are committed to bringing men’s lacrosse back under the NEC umbrella in the near future.”
The A-10 has not yet formally announced the addition of men’s lacrosse as a sponsored sport, a move first reported by USA Lacrosse Magazine contributor Jeremy Fallis in February.
SBU Unfurled with an interesting comment.

I have no idea how I glanced down and saw a recent post for Lacrosse. Since I’m here, my question is, what is a viable budget for a Lacrosse program, including scholarships, and can UD’s budget absorb another non revenue program? Also, please give me a full rundown on the NIL landscape for mens Lacrosse.

So a friends son is playing high school lacrosse, at Northmont (Clayton area north suburb of Dayton for those of you out of town). I thought he was joking at first, as as recently as 2018 when my youngest graduated no such thing locally in high school. He says in the past 6 years Ohio has went from around 20 high schools playing Lacrosse to around 130 with "nearly all the DI larger schools currently having both mens and womens lacrosse. Lacrosse is now an officially sanctioned sport at the high school level with many more schools contemplating adding Lacrosse despite budget cuts and the world we live in. Interesting the gain in popularity in Ohio in such a short time.
