Charles Cooke with a big 3. Up 11 but I don't know how either team is supposed defend a drive because you breathing on someone is a foul.

Why has Big Steve been on the bench for so long? Bonnie is simply driving to the basket and laying it in on nearly every possession. Need to clog the middle/paint.

UD is playing extremely lazy defense. How many open layups and wide open 3's you going to give them? We probably win- but really don't deserve to

Or, if you're just standing there and a guy bumps into you, the foul is on you. Ask Pierre.

Well, a win and a lot to keep the coaching fire going. One thing for sure is that every opposing coach with impress upon their team is never give up when playing Dayton. Will take this win and hopefully a bunch of motivation for Fordham and finish the job.

Bonnie scored 61 points in the second half. Just change clothes, put on your winter coats, and get the heck out of Olean! LOL. A conference road win is a conference road win is a...

Barely avoided an epic collapse.
Sure glad for the win, but mental toughness was lacking big time.
Pierre saved our bacon, I am almost sure this would have been a regrettable loss if not for his play down the stretch.

Archie may make these guys run laps when they get back to campus tonight. He was ultra-pi$$ed at that final buzzer. And who could blame him, after that Chernobyl-like meltdown?

Exactly
what problems are you talking about? 5-1 in the A-10 with a BIG road win tonight and they just played the best first half in the history of UD basketball. They have a 10 R.P.I. and you think this team has problems? You must be a newbie to UD basketball.

It already has. We lost at LaSalle.
Road wins are tough. This game is definitely a teaching moment for the rest of the season.

Was he tearing into a ref, or his own team? I saw a few questionable calls, but mostly a lot of cojone-less defense after halftime.

From person at the game, tearing into one specific referee.

I rewound that meltdown several times to see to whom it was directed. By the time the camera cut to Archie the last Flyer, Scoochie, had already walked past him. Behind Scoochie, around midcourt, was the white haired ref. That is who Archie screamed profanities at. He then composed himself and cordially shook Schmidt's hand.

The way the game was called changed, made the defense tentative and SBU made a bunch of shots.
The Flyers beat a good team on the road in a tough place. Move on and take care of business in the Bronx.

Archie should run some laps. He's IMHO culpable too. A little coaching please.

I was not expecting the 1st half run-away and it made me nervous. When we didn't score right away in the 2nd half on what should have been easy lay-ups, I knew this would happen. Thankfully, the guys did just enough to hang on, but it should have been another 30 pt blow-out like UMass. I think they just get too comfortable and let up in the 2nd half.
The refs were horrible, as usual, but they would not have been the reason for losing this game. I thought flopping was outlawed now, but evidently Adams and the refs didn't get the memo. That last foul on Scoochie (I think) was a push-off, but the guy he pushed had him in a bear hug. Bottom line, don't let up. Make those easy shots, so the refs don't become a factor.
Got to beat Fordham and come home for two games next week. Two bottom dwellers should not be a problem, but we all know they play to the level of competition too often. I definitely want to blow LaSalle back to Philly.
Right now Fordham is the most important game on the schedule. We need KP and DS to stay in double figures. It's 10 PM and I'm finally starting to breathe again.

That would have been Brian O'Connell. The other 2 refs listed for tonight's game (Jeff Clark and Tony Crisp) don't have white hair. Not sure, but O'Connell might have been the guy who called the Illegal Screen foul on Pierre...when Pierre had the ball, and the Bonnies player ran over him. I nearly hit the ceiling ("WHAT?!?!") when I saw THAT one!

No it "should not" have been a 30 point blowout....Shouldn't have been a 6 point win either with the game not even out of question until the missed 3 by the Bonnie player from the corner under 6 seconds...
St Bonnie is a tough team and I knew a run or two was coming but never dreamed it would go below 14-15 points...Gotta give those 2 guards credit...start hitting a bunch of 3's with UD turning the ball over and missing FT'S and it's very easy, and fast, to see how a team can make up 16-17 points on an opponent in minutes..
