Davidson II Match
UD up 2-0 and in control in set 3 up 15-8. The first two set were probably closer than they should hav3 been at...
But the biggest surprise was when the match started..Davidson was in a 3-way tie with VCU and SLU for 2nd in the conference. I think VCU is starting to put somethings together and get better than they started the year. I think SLU will disappoint me AGAIN. It seems again they should be better based on the recruits they have gotten since Kent Miller was hired years ago. If SLU cared about volleyball, he would have been on the hot seat 4-5 years ago. Finishing 3rd or 4th every year isn’t the history of that program before Miller got the job. And I think Davidson is up and coming, which the conference needs.
Overall, this weekend, I think our passing is really coming along. I think our setting took a step backwards. It was really good 2 weekends ago. It’s both the timing and the placement. But it’s still way better than where we started the year...which was pretty bad. So we’ve talked multiple steps forward and maybe one backwards, but time to take a couple more forward before the tournaments start. It’s not the passing now. It just needs more work/reps.
