Good scheduling.....if you are going to play a D2 team during regular season, sure as heck don't want to play the Findlay's and Bellarmine's of that world.

Dear Flyers, please do not try to dunk anymore. At least until they lower the rims to 9' for us.

KP needs to sit this game out. Lots of mental mistakes. They better not let this game be tied with 10 mins left in the game.

Two missed dunks, a slip on a breakaway, and offensive goaltending. Not playing smart. Yet.

I can't believe I have turned this game on.
I saw a gif of Darrell's airball layup. Did he hurt himself taking off since he only played 2 minutes according to the box score?

Mikesell's defense in this game Is atrocious ... and matched by his offense. He's better than this, I hope.

Kendall blow's a dunk simply because he is in bad shape and can't elevate like he is used to.
He needs to realize he is going to have to get his old man rec league game ready and lay it in.

I have seen nothing posted in this thread, so far, that Archie would not agree with right now. Ugly game. Lose the game film, erase from memory, pray no one gets hurt in the last 12 minutes, be glad if we do hold on to win, and concentrate on Saturday. Right after a good butt chewing by Archie and a midnight practice tonight!

Kendall with a three, then a dunk. Now get his butt to the bench so nothing stupid happens to slow down his recovery.

I tend to agree but I just hope he isn't hurt since it was a weird takeoff. I didn't watch the first half, but I can't believe that Archie would have benched him for all but 2 minutes of the game.
BTW Lasalle down 5 to Nova with 1:25 to play. ESPN2

Did you watch the first 28 minutes of the game? We were out hustled and out rebounded. The D was sad. This is when I posted that comment, up by 10 or so.
And for the record, keep in mind I am typically the guy wearing the red and blue goggles, shaking my pom poms, always optimistic about almost everything.

Florida Atlantic upsets tOSU 79-77 at St. Johns Arena. Talk about not taking your opponent seriously. Or playing down to your opponent.

We all know Am is hard to please as he is a perfectionist and wants the team to play their best no matter the opponent. While it started off poorly it did pick up and much so in the second half.
Train wreck its not....not even close.

So tell me Donnie, after the game did Archie give them a good butt kicking? Or did they hold hands and sing Kumbaya? Based on Archies post game comments, I am pretty sure he is not happy. With 12 minutes to go in the game, it was still anyones game to win based on our lack of effort. Not sure what Bucky was saying on WHIO, but I can tell you the TV announcers pointed out the obvious multiple times, that the Flyers did not look sharp and lacked hustle at times. Fortunately, our Flyers woke up a bit and St. Joes gave up.

The 21 steals were a program record by four picks. The 11 blocks were a program record. The defense was fine. It was our offense that sputtered. Some TOs of our own, missed dunks/layups, some missed FTs. Once we started putting the biscuit in the basket this one was history. Our D turned them over for run-outs.
St. Joe played one of the Top-5 D-II teams to a 2-3 possession game a few days ago. Thats like keeping it close with Findlay. Overal we won by 30 and nobody got hurt. Winner winner chicken dinner.

It was not a great first half mostly because of blown dunks and layups. They left 7 sure points on the floor and would have been up 16.
But anybody's game with 12 minutes left? With 12 minutes left Dayton was up by 18. They had been up by 14 points or more for several minutes prior. In no way shape or form was it anybody's game to win at that point. And it hadn't been for quite a while.
In fact, even despite the suspect first half it was obvious that ST Joes would not be able to hang for 40 minutes.

More importantly, I have a print out of the schedule that I mark Ws and Ls and keep both complete W-L record and conf W-L record. Do I mark anything down for this game?

Did anyone really not see this coming? Flyer teams have almost always played to the the level of competition, even in DI. I expected it to be worse last night, and was not surprised. The unnecessary showboating resulted in multiple bounced dunks and lackadaisical missed layups that drove everyone crazy. But fortunately, they seemed to get the message in the 2nd half and finally pulled ahead for good. Time to get back to reality and take care of business for the rest of the season.
Showboating is NOT NECESSARY! We know how good you can be when you just play hard and keep your focus.
Archie has been raving about how good ETST is, so now I hope the players take it to heart and not think all they have to do is show up on Sat. I also hope that Sam is better and hasn't infected the rest of the team. We don't need a team-wide flu outbreak, which has happened now and then over the years.

The W should count for the overall record of the Flyers, and on the stat sheet. The W will not count in the RPI rating, though.
