Ouch!!
Here's the quote in that link that really hurts:
"George Mason continues to build off the Final Four appearance as far as recruiting is concerned."
I can only imagine what recruiting Gregory could do with a "Final Four" on our resume'.

BB, "we all" didn't know this. It was a relevent post by a FY95 to spread a little knowledge on the coming season. Give the poster some respect.

St. Joe's at #91
St. Joe's comes in at #91 on the CHN 144 countdown...
http://www.collegehoopsnet.com/20080...eview-91-70185
They are listed 8th in the A10, so 7 more A10 teams at least made it into the top 90.

i think chn is fairly realistic as opposed to espn and other preseeason guessing games.
i'll say about 46-51.
frankly with our athleticism, and what i think will be a new brand of ud basketball, think we'll be from 32-44 most of year. just with a stronger finish.
another new brand of ud basketball, finishing! and doing well in the A10.

BLB33, thanks for not blowing up tOSU yet. Please wait until after next weekend as there is a pretty big game coming up on Saturday. Also GMU will have a pretty good team. I'm afraid if Dayton plays as bad as they did last year against them they could lose again.

UD is 45th
The rankings are on their site. UD is 45th and they say "a healthy Chris Wright makes up for the loss of Brian Roberts."

Which website has us as 45? Put a link on there.
Also ... I like our team this year I am just scared of the schedule. I feel another 14-1 in OOC play will be necessary for us to get to the 24 win mark which will put us a little above the bubble.
I will just say this ... if we do not beat either Creighton or Marquette we will be in serious trouble ... because when everyone looks at "quality wins" we will have 0.
14-1 with a loss to Creighton or Marquette and 10-6 in conference with 2 wins in the A-10 tournament would get us in. Anything less and we are 50/50.

CollegeHoops.net does! I'm not good with links so I am not sure this is going to work...If it don't work go to CollegeHoops.net then on the first page it should say Pre-Season top 50 with a pic of a North Carolina player on it....

There is truth to this but beating Xavier on the road might be considered a quality win, if we pull it off

The top 144 countdown although on the same website is written by a different writer
Joel Welser so it may be different.

Oh I know man ... I am just talking about OOC.
Our schedule is very narrow in terms of we have 2 chances to have a quality win, we do not have any le-way on this.
Let's say we take care of business with everyone else and lose to Marquette and Creighton. We go 13-2 OOC
Then in conference based on past performances, say we grind out 10 wins ... maybe one against X, maybe not.
We could be sitting there on selection Sunday with 25 wins (including a-10 tourn) and no "quality" wins ... therefore missing the dance because everyone will say we didn't beat anyone.
Its just a theory ... but honestly we have to go 14-1 in OOC play, there is no room for error this season, we need to beat everyone and destroy the cupcakes and hope we can steal one against Marquette or Creighton.

i agree we'll need to get one from marq or creighton. shouldn't put us in serious trouble , but def. not a good thing to have mini, mum of marquis W's.
i also think this team is capable of having more gears. Meaning, if we go 12-3 or 11-4 early on, it's possible we go into overdrive and get 11-5 in the A10.
Possible.

Either way I have a good feeling about this years squad, and I think we will win the Atlantic 10 Championship in Atlantic City!
"We Are UD"
Regular season record 25-6 Overall record of 28-6 going into the March Madness... as a 6 seed.

I read through last years projection, and have to say they did their homework. It's just hard to predict so many key guys going down at the wrong times.

False.
"Quality wins" only matter for bubble teams, and it's pretty overblown. If quality wins were a major factor, UD would have been in for sure last year.
Just don't become a bubble team. 25 wins and we will dance...regardless of who those wins are against...or I'll eat one of your sweaty socks.

How many chances would you say we had last season to have a quality win OOC?
