We shouldn't be scheduling games like this - it makes no sense to travel half way across the country to play a bad Pac-10 team. it's a game that won't help us but could hurt us if we're a bubble team

Lots of quality non-BCS teams out there - losing to, or even beating, a BCS team with a bad RPI is worthless if not deadly to post season hopes

Missed free throws and awful turnovers at that critical moment when they had a chance to take the lead at about the 8 minute mark. This is another bad loss; I don't care what the RPI worshipers think!!

terrible offense. Flyers shot 72 from the line. It was too many bad shots and dumb passes. And it was the upper classmen leading the barrage

That's now 3 games we had a chance to win on last possession and couldn't make the play. We really played bad and actually deserved to lose. Our bigs were horrible and weren't tough enough.

it was a game the Flyers should have won by double figures but there was no patience amd poor decisions on offense. As I have been saying all year they have too many guys that can't play thru contact. Bang em and they will fall down, lose the ball, miss the shot, etc.

We're 2 games away from the season being half over and we should be getting better - instead we've played one of our worst games of the year. I hope we do turn it around but I've seen nothing that would tempt me to lay money we'll finish in the top half of the A10

they are the anti-Butler. Butlers main asset is that they play with a ton of physical toughness on both sides of the ball. Not great talent or athletes but great toughness. UD plays with no physical toughness.

35% from the floor, 15% from 3. I had hoped these kind of nights were a thing of the past. Seniors have to lead you on the road by being tough minded, and singularly focused. Dillard still is a vacant jersey on D, and Benson is about as soft as they get up front. The Flyers will have to make it happen in conference if they expect any kind of post season action.

Teams play games where they miss shots, etc. What bothers me is not that they shot 35% but they took so many forced shots. It is the lack of basketball IQ and toughness on this night that bothers.

They space just about perfectly, know their roles on the team, and don't make mental errors.

But the defense is hustling down court while the ball is dancing. The clock is one problem, beating the defense down court is another. That extra second gave USC's defense the advantage.

The defense was already down court. USC had nobody on the line.

On the other hand, that appeared to be a good win and like everyone else I thought/hoped we had come around and were making progress - since then we lost to a terrible USC team that won't win 10 games, Murray State lost at home to Valpo, so maybe they're not as good as we thought, and our other 'signature' win, Alabama, has lost 5 of 6 including at home to Mercer

True! Why don't we just end the season today then. UD has no chance in conference play, right? Don't panic NC. UD will be fine. Arch is a good coach and these guys will put it together when it counts. I just hope you don't disappear when that happens, ya know??
Hey, your boy finally won an A-10 game when his GT team beat up on Fordham! Hahaha. I kid.
Relax pal. It's one game. Loooooong way to go.

Hey, give us some credit. Teams just aren't the same after they play us.

I always root for UD regardless of how they play or who the coach is, unlike some people - read my comment again " I hope we do turn it around but I've seen nothing that would tempt me to lay money we'll finish in the top half of the A10." My point is that this team hasn't shown at the half way point of the season that they have what it takes to compete in the A10 this year. It seems after taking a step forward they take 2 steps back. To make a run in the A10 they're going to have to realize their successes in the last game won't translate to an automatic win the next game - following wins against Butler and xavier with losses to LsSalle and UMass won't get you a NCAA bid

All because a team has USC, Auburn, Mississippi State or DePaul on their jersey, doesn't mean they're automatically better than a team from a non-BCS conference - Wofford will probably finish with a better RPI that USC

Wofford is about 1 pt better than USC on a neutral ct. but we played them away and I am assuming that X played Wofford at home. Thats an 8.5 pt swing according to Sagarins calculations. All that aside we should have beaten them.

A Fordham transfer just buried Archie's team in OT, did he not?
Anyhow, attacking our former coach makes no sense after a loss like this. How are the two related? Isn't there another way to try and raise your spirits?

Well, that was ugly. USC isn't as bad as it's record would make it, but we let that one get away; our shooting was poor and our turnovers...ugh. Now, part of that may have been the problems with flying across country, part of it may have been rust and part of it could have been p*ss poor reffing. KD's back may also have been acting up (a long plane flight with a bad back is no fun), so we should show a little forbearance on his performance (1-10 FG with 4 TOs) last night; the kid is a trouper, IMHO. USC plays a very physical game and it seemed the refs swallowed their whistles last night...one of the problems with playing on the road. Now, it's also possible we're just not as good as we all think, but this team has potential to excel, we'll only know once we get further into the season...all is not lost, so let's not get too down with this loss.

My spirits are great. I love UD but I also realize there are way more important things in life than a UD win or loss! Been to war and have seen real life stuff, so this is nothing. Trust me.
Fordham transfer, yes. Fordham, no. Not to mention, he probably transferred because of how bad they are! I bet any A-10 team would take the big kid Fordham has on the roster, but not many would take over the program, no?? That's what I thought.
Cheer up Fudd. UD will be fine. It's only one game.
Also, I said "I kid" at the end of my statement. But I guess you missed that haha.

I'm not suprised or disappointed in the least by the results yesterday. This team is playing exactly as I expect them to. I'm not sure what military service has to do with any of that. Another strange tangent.
My reaction is only stirred by your odd strategy for deflecting of AM criticism by references to BG. I, personally, don't have much criticism to direct at AM at this point (with the exception of a weaker defense than I am used to seeing at UD), but can understand why some are disturbed by some of the things they have seen so far. Referring to BG's mediocre conference performances after a narrow road non-conf loss to a low-end BCS team makes it feel like you are reaching for something....some way to deflect.
"Look over there! Don't criticize what is going on in front of your face."
That's what your reaction looks like to me. Even though I don't have a "lol" or a use a "bra", you are going to have to trust in my pleasant disposition while typing this message homey.
Fudz out!
