23-15 on rebounds, and we are shooting 33%. Defense is keeping us ahead.

Dang it, that stinks. First, our end-of-half set was once again kind of garbage. Second, that was a huge three for WSU.

I like where we are. We need to pound it inside early and often in the 2nd half and keep playing defense the way we have so far. We should pull this one off.

Fouls and rebounds didn't help but dang are we playing well on D. Even that last shot was contested, just a great shot.
I have to think the Shockers are getting tired. They aren't use to this constant pressure. gotta keep getting after it.

A defensive mismatch though, I think. Scoochie at 6'2" against Kelly at 6'7". Not much more Scoochie could have done, giving up 5".

Very lucky off balance shot that keeps it close by WSU. Honestly WSU looks like a top tier A10 team but no better

Gotta be ready for Gregg Marshall offensive adjustments for the second half.
Scoochie has taken 11 of our 29 shots. A little worrying. But not as long as he's making them.

They are 2-12 on threes and we are 5-13. We have 3 turnovers and they have 8.
We are 5-16 on two's. Pollard and Cooke have to bring it this half. Cooke 1-5 and 1 rebound.

Wonder if Marshall tries to get it inside more and crash the boards in 2nd half.
Key is Pollard - can he stay out of foul trouble and get us some buckets?
Oh, and if Cooke wants to score that would be fine too.

I think we over-relied on scooch because Pollard, Cunningham and Cook were on the bench. I expect this to change in the second half.

I can't remember which one, but one of the Columbus area Honda dealers used to run a commercial with customer testimonials. The customer's name and city would be on the screen: John S., Anytown. Kellogg was in, and it said Clark K., Westerville. Every time my wife sees him on TV now she says, "Hey, it's Clark K. from Westerville."

If we're going to win this game, Charles Cooke is going to have to finish at the rim. It really is a game that's going to be decided by the way Cooke plays on offense I think.

Cooke and X need to settle down offensively. They were both jittery with the ball. Both played good D though.

One interesting stat - only three turnovers by the Flyers, all Pollard's. Not to dump on KP, but everybody else totals zero turnovers. Wow.
Keep playing smart.
And nice to see Sam come out of the doghouse and launch three good looking shots, one went in, but all looked smooth and unforced. Not too bad D for Sam so far, either.
Need to keep it up on all levels in the 2nd half. Cooke needs to get a couple of shots to go down.
Big Fun so far!

Yeah, we need Pollard to stay out of foul trouble and get the inside game going.
And yes, if Cooke would be "Cooke-esque", that would help.

Other than the miss on the shot clock violation, this had been well officiated.

Fact: That stretch of Mandarin CBS just showed made more sense than all of Barkley's analysis.

Is someone besides Scoochie going to step up on offense?

Somebody needs to help Smith on offense. We're missing Cooke terribly.

Flyers are playing an outstanding defensive game. Shockers are completely out of their offense. Pressuring WSU's guards well out past the 3-point line is wreaking havoc on WSU's sets.
I think Dayton's scout on the Shockers said not to worry about the perimeter guys driving to the hoop, and that gameplan is working well.
the D looks like what Oklahoma State did to the Shocks.

UD's last set on offense was terrible. 4 guys standing around watching Scooch. Need Pollard and Cooke back in. No tomorrow.

That was a bad no call on the carry by WSU. Pretty obvious.

Well he is still playing on the defensive side of the ball so I'm glad he's at least there for that.

Did Igor double-dribble on that slam? Didn't think so at first, but on the replay had to think twice.

K. Davis and D. Davis have been so strong defensively tonight. I don't think K. Davis even has a field goal attempt, but he's been key every second he's played tonight.

Charles needs to clear his head. And then do two things. Shut down his defensive assignment and go crash the boards. That's how he can help this team right now. If the offense comes, take it. Otherwise go do the clean up work to help your team.

Live from Bankers Life Fieldhouse I'd like to ask why either David is playing? At this point Sam Miller is a better option...at least he's trying to do something. The Davis' are only sucking up valuable oxygen that Scoochie needs! up space.. Bench them!

Kyle Davis and his defense is keeping it close.
Offensively, at least Kyle is not forcing up crap and missing badly like another one of our senior wings who completely failed to show up and is now 1 for 10 from the field after the missed layup just now that could have got us within 1.
