USA Today's #3 must see game of the weekend
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports...lina/81282602/
Great recognition for the league. # 3 behind NC Duke and Indiana Maryland.
Place should be rocking. I pledge to do my part and be loud.

Assuming that USA today is an objective source, it is interesting how we are mentioned as a potential bubble team because of losing 3 out of 4 games. "A loss could spell postseason doom" for either team is quite a comment for these two teams. That is not very comforting.
It is very probably that VCU, UD, SJU and SBU make it to the A10 tournament semifinals. It would be great for all four to be selected by the NCAA. I think they would all deserve it and all four have a good chance of winning at least one game in the tournament.
I know all the warnings about assuming anything and maybe I am assuming too much.

But the article says UD is on the bubble. I seriously doubt that's really the case.

Mathematically, it doesn't make a lot of sense to say that this is a must-win for VCU. VCU's RPI would not drop no matter the outcome, and may actually increase a spot or two. VCU's SOS will improve dramatically (almost 20 spots) just by playing the game. VCU's standing in the A10 is also not in jeopardy.
Now, if VCU lost this game and then laid in egg in the A10s they would be in some trouble. I don't see that happening.

They are just making some hype, a loss for either in this game isn't going to drown either team. I love this statement. "Scoochie Smith scored 24 of his career-high 26 points in that contest."
Goes to show they are just trying to find material.

Think about VCU losing today and a first round loss in A10 tourney. On the bubble and probably wrong side. A10 regular season (co) champ not making NCAAT. Talk about a blow to the league.

Didn't think we were on the bubble last year either. Then lo and behold we're the last team in. I never take anything for granted. GO FLYERS!!!

To win this game we need to NOT turn the ball over. This is something we haven't been the greatest at in tough games. VCU is great at forcing turnovers.

UD is a lock even going 0-2, which the Flyers will not. About 19-21 in terms of best resume according to KPI (19) and Dance Card (21) which are accurate in terms of in/out tourney and seeding; 25 teams would have to pass Dayton for the Flyers to not get in.
Let's stop the insanity of believing Dayton is on the bubble. Last year Dance Card had Dayton as 2nd OUT so 48 with 46 at-large bids. KPI had Dayton 40 and 46 at-large bids. Average together and Dayton was 44 with 46 at-large bids or 3rd to last team in -- definitely bubble and together they were 2 off from actuality (Flyers averaged 44 kpi/dance) and committee ranked Dayton 46.
BTW, I moved Dayton up 2 spots in KPI/Dance Card as SMU & Louisville ahead of the Flyers in both rankings.
