This Titus and Tate podcast is a must listen. They gush about seeing the team interact at the hotel, Anthony Grant, the team’s top 5 potential, the Dayton fans, etc. it’s a good national podcast but they first 30 minutes is almost exclusively Dayton. Great to hear outsiders’ perspective.

That is a fantastic podcast. It’s amazing to hear the kind of impact the players and fans made on these guys. My favorite part of the podcast is when they talk about the Dayton players at the pool: “These guys love each other.” And then they go on to say how it’s NOT like that with other teams.

I’ll tell you what, it’s going to be fun seeing how great chemistry, a superstar, first-rate backcourt, depth and coaching discipline can take these guys. I’m psyched.

Being here at Maui and seeing the team together last night after the game down at the beach - I can confirm - they do love each other - it is a big family. It was great seeing and they are so nice and such great character - Thanks to Coach Grant for quickly creating this culture. And thanks to the players for being so nice to my kids and the other Dayton fans. It was like a big happy family party.

For those that have not done one of these holiday tournaments - I highly recommend you go in the future.

I second all of the above. The players and coaches embraced the Faithful at the Sheraton/Maui...vs avoiding them. Nice ovation as they appeared near the beach/pool.
As I was checking out of hotel AG was heading to pool, saw my UD shirt, and came over to thank ME for supporting them. I've been to A10 tourney, NCAA games, Orlando and now Maui. The atmosphere at these exempt tournaments among the faithful is really a lot of fun.

The Flyers have been #9 since the day after KU game and CBS Sports puts it out there everyday. I wonder if that has any influence on AP voters?

It’s not really a CBS poll, it’s Gary Parrish’s poll and he’s pretty unapologetically reactionary with his rankings. One man’s opinion, nothing more (although I’m guessing he has a AP vote).

He actually does a good job of ranking teams and gives his reasoning for each teams spot. He doesn’t rank by name on jersey, he does it by performance on the court.

I agree, I’m just saying he tends to overreact...like ranking us #9 or VT #12. At the end of the day the polls are inconsequential in college basketball, except for having your scores on the ribbon and more highlights. We had our run and the national sports media hasn’t mentioned UD in 4 days. We need to keep winning and everything else will take care of itself.
