J.D. Weatherspoon

All stolen directly from the fine folks at BuckeyePlanet. Plays on the same AAU team as Staten, Payne, and Sullinger (big time OSU commit). According to the second article, will be visiting Dayton.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Columbus (OH) Northland - Same school as Ohio State commit Jared Sullinger

Ht: 6-7
Wt: 200 lbs
AAU: All-Ohio Red

Lists Ohio State, West Virginia, Miami, Akron (offer), James Madison (offer), Wisconsin, Xavier, Miami, and Wake Forest.

He is on the rise.

Rivals

Quote:
There was a lot of commotion in the very back corner of the spacious Campus Recreation Center building on Sunday afternoon. The reason? It was Weatherspoon bending the rims in the 15 and under championship game.
The 6-foot-6 forward dominated on the big stage and there was not a player on the floor that could stop his athleticism and strength in the paint.

Rivals.com$ (Brian Snow)

Weatherspoon visited tOSU for the Ohio football game earlier this month and enjoyed the visit. tOSU did not offer but asked that he be patient and continue to work hard. J.D. also visited Xavier who has offered. Weatherspoon will also visit Dayton and Akron in the near future.

And I'd prefer a BMW over my Honda.

Martin's the #38 player in the nation (according to Rivals).

Duke, we are not.

We got Staten, We are at the top of Paynes List. Why not? Dayton is getting good recruits! Even if we did'nt land Martin we still have good players. Kavanaugh (2009) Searcy, Wright, Paul Williams. We can go after Martin and if we land him then everybody wins if not we still have great talent!

The difference is that we were in the lead for those recruits early on and had the strong Dayton connection. I think we are too far behind with Martin and nothing indicates that we would be one of his top choices. Not saying we should give up on him but I would rather see us concentrate elsewhere.
