Perception of Dayton Fans on TV
Attending the game in Memphis, I was totally impressed with the Dayton fans, loud and cheering through the game even when it was over.
Was this obvious on TV? Did the announcers talk about it?

Yes. I heard a lot of lets go flyers chants and they showed the band with face paint out of the time outs. On two or three occasions in the first half they showed the player's sister and called her dayton's biggest fan. Frequently at least five occasions they showed the watch party on campus, which was never shown for florida fans. Dayton fans definitely represented well on tv!

ESPN Blog = Five things: Florida ends Dayton's dream
Dayton's fans were great. Coaches and players talk all the time about how the exposure of the NCAA tournament reveals to the world things locals take for granted. Rarely was that maxim more true than with Dayton. The city and university have long shared a special relationship with the basketball team through thick and thin. If nothing else, this team's run -- marked by thousands of students celebrating in the streets, and the thousands of Dayton fans who giddily flooded into Memphis this week -- showed off that relationship to the world.

"Ease His Pain" -- The Flyer Faithful's growing impatience on achieving adequate success.
"If You Build It, He Will Come." - No town in America will get behind you more so than Dayton if you raise the stakes.
"Go the Distance." - Finish what you started. Take it to the very end and accept nothing less than being the best.
We sort of started our own Field of Dreams the past 6 weeks. Can't let it vanish again into thin air. It took us 30 years to re-kindle the flame. Most of us will be pushing up daisies if we have to wait that long again.
