What season will UD play in their next NCAA Tournament
Assuming Cunningham returns next season, I'm going 'all in' and saying we're in the NCAAs in 2018-19. Many others here - obviously - think it will be longer, maybe even much longer.
So let's vote on it. And when it happens in March 2019, I will 'bump' this thread to the front of the Royal discussions and all of you can heap praise and glory my way...because I am, of course, right.
King Rollo the Optimist...OUT!

I went with 2019-20.
I think there are more upheavals we will experience in the next season & a half, leading to more personnel changes. I also think it will take a little more time for Grant to get this team's collective head straight to the point where we see more VCU/ SBU games and fewer Penn/ UMass games.
I'm not as high on Grant as some others are, but am also not as down on him either. Every Flyer coach in the modern era has taken a team to the NCAA tourney.

Too many unknowns in terms of development & the roster. I could see next year.
Jordan Davis, Crutcher, Kosta & Trey seem like a good core going forward. The dream would be they become the backbone like last years senior class

I fully expect them to string 3 or 4 wins together in March and play their way into the NCAA this season. Thats what I expected of this season from the start and nothing has changed that. Hoping for a 4th place finish so it is only 3 wins.

You can't handle the truth of where I'm from! Does my firing mean I am relegated to the Beavercreek Milano's?

I wouldn't be shocked by anything this team does this year. They could get blown out in first game of A10 tourney or win it all. Just no clue, but without a doubt, there will be no NCAA this year without winning A10 tournament.
Looking at next year, add Cohill and Toppin plus ? Toppin will have practiced a year with the team, Kostas will have a year of real playing, Landers a full year of real game experience, X a Sr, Cunningham beast mode senior, Mikesell back, Crutcher with a full year of playing, Jordan Davis with a full year of playing. There's a lot to like for next year for sure and I could see them potentially making it. It just depends on how the team gels, who might transfer out, how quickly some guys can come in and make contributions but I can certainly see a lot of optimism for next year.
And if not next year, assuming the typical AG style recruiting, 2019-2020 at the latest.

SMH. March 2019? SMH. Sorry Rollo, I figured you knew this but evidently not. Kendall Pollard graduated last season and is out of eligibility. He's not coming back next year.

I found it interesting in the game program from the Friday/VCU game that Anthony Corbett admitted to what I had suspected all along about the late 1980’s teams (Legendary coach Donoher’s last team) where he said the 89/90 team had underperformed and admitted that their lack of success had nothing to do with him as coach but rather their abilities as a team to play harder and play together. Also he acknowledged that they started that run (and thought) with their record standing at 11-9 in early 1990.
I feel the same could apply to this team, this year. This team has shown it can compete with and win against any team in the A10 this year. I still feel they can make the dance with a run starting right now. I never see the glass as half full. It can happen this year. My vote of confidence fwiw is firmly behind coach AG.

I am not sure that the high expectations in this poll are lining up with reality. People might want to temper their expectations. Regardless, per the results of this poll, the heat is on to make the NCAAT next year.
We are projected to possibly have our worst rpi year this year since 2005-2006, BG's 3rd year, 13 years.
Going to the NCAAT next year is a very quick turnaround, when you look at it from that perspective.
This year, we may or may not finish better than #114, which is where we finished in Archie's 2nd year.
RPI History
Season Record RPI Rank SOS Rank
2016-2017 25-8 0.5920 32 0.5273 93
