Saint Joseph's Game Thread
All I have to say is... Revenge!! I bet a lot of us have been waiting for this game since last year to avenge the 3 losses. Mr. Push-off, Kanicevic & Roberts are all gone. This is step 3 of the 5 game stretch that we need to win.
Game is on Thursday at 6 PM and will be shown on ESPNU.
Starting Lineup:
G 24 Chris Wilson 6’3” 210 SR Fayetteville, NC
G 25 James Demery 6’6” 186 FR Williamston, NC
F 43 DeAndre’ Bembry 6’6” 210 SO Charlotte, NC
F 15 Isaiah Miles 6’7” 225 JR Baltimore, MD
C 34 Javon Baumann 6’8” 260 RS SO Solms-Oberbiel, Germany
I wonder if Arch will put KD on Bembry.
Hopefully #25 is ready to go!
Go UD!

...especially on the road. They have lost @ Denver, @ Duquesne, @ St. Bonnie, @ LaSalle, @ SLU, and @ Fordham. They lost by 52 points @ Gonzaga, by 28 @ Villanova, and by 15 @ VCU.
But we can't take them lightly. Take it to them early and often. Payback for last year's debacles. At least they don't have Foulaway to shove off or bank in treys at the buzzer...

But yet, we have 3 sophs, one junior, one senior and 2 bench players yet we are RPI 30. You think coaching and prep may have something to do with that?

We need to come up with a nickname for Kyle Davis. Edwin Young was known as The Blanket. KD neutralizes the opponents best player like a shot-down corner. Bembry's in for a tough night.

We have missed some easy shots.
Anyone notice when Sibert came out, he went and knelt down in front of Big Steve and talked to him for quite a while???

They are near the bottom in the NCAA in three point shooting. Averages happen over the course of a game.

Don't like the way this game is going. Can St. Joe continue to shoot the trey at 55%.
Can UD keep hitting the try?

I just detest how teams play the "last" shot of a half. Dribble it around and chuck a three. How often does it work?

And your solution is?
You take what the defense gives you. He began his penetration but the middle was pack in....option shoot the trey or let the clock run out. No brainer.

We are shooting 40% from 3 since the dismissals -top 20. They aRe shooting 29% -- bottom 20. We have had open looks and they have had contested. Unbleieveable they are shooting 60% at the half ...

Archue should have Schooch shoot Ts. Slightly better foul shooter than Sibert and I would surmise Sibert's effective free throw % lower as misses disproportionate of front end of 1/1s.

Wish we would drive down the open lane instead of stopping & looking for someone to pass to. Least step inside the 3 point line.

Our defense is not good right now and we are getting outrebounded by four. We have no one near the basket for an offensive rebound on a missed three.

We will have a hard time winning if KD is leading the team in three point attempts.

Joe's shooting 50% and 50% on threes, and outrebounding us by 7. That is hard to beat.

We have to get the ball inside.
I do not like if this game goes to the end close with Bembry on the floor.

It is painful watching Sibert miss 6 of 7 3s tonight. Could use a couple more of them. Getting nervous.

Sibert misses the 1st of 2 foul shots so often. Concentration or what? Line drives when he misses as well?

I used to have a baseball coach who always told us after ugly wins, that good teams find ways to win. I'm always reminded of that when we get wins like this.

Pollard almost wins it, then almost loses it. Sibert almost loses it and probably wins it. Another great team effort. We are UD

We survive and get another win. Harder than I thought that it would be, and Sibert did not have the game that we expected, but his defense made the difference in my mind with his defense of Bembry at the end.

I can't ever get upset with this group of kids because they always continue to play hard, even when they are not playing their best. Sibert's D on Bembry at the end is a prime example. He had missed some free throws, wasn't playing at his best, but he puts it behind him and really comes through in the clutch. This team is all heart, don't want the season to end.
