Exhibition game?
I can’t image this will be televised or streamed. Maybe I missed something. (I do that more and more, it seems) but define exhibition. If there’s no one in the stands and no one watching remotely, is it really “exhibition” or just a scrimmage in house? If a bear............

Scrimmage allows either team to start/stop to make changes, run specific “drills”, etc.
Exhibition game is a normal two 20 min half game.

Thank you TX for enlightening me on the technical difference between a scrimmage and an exhibition game. I’m so glad I’m enlightenEd now. I guess you missed my being facetious.

It is on the ESPN+ schedule for 2PM Nov 28. First time I can remember an exhibition being televised and I've never been so excited to see an exhibition.

Don't want to waste a new thread but did anybody in Upper Miami Valley get the first edition of FLYER CONNECTION in today's Sunday DDN?
I went to Kroger's and two Speedways here in Piqua and none of the copies on the stand had the new Flyer weekly basketball section as advertised all week in the DDN
How about others in DDN coverage area?

I could be wrong but when I read their description it made it sound like it would only be in the print version.

I used to get a print version in the mail probably due to my season tickets, but it was in my Sunday paper (yesterday). i live in Clayton, just south of I70. Maybe UD wants to reach a wider audience due to the amazing season they had.
I signed up for ESPN+ over the weekend so I wouldn't miss a game.

Cedarville game is in regular season, so why doesn't it count?
For instance, last year Wright State played Central State, which is not a Division 1 program, on 11/5/19 which was the first day of the regular season. They won and their record was 1-0, which reflected the common practice. I know the power ratings only consider Division 1 games, but I'm talking about season record. My understanding is that games played during the regular season count on the record.
Why is UD different?

I checked my copy against the Dayton Daily News website Flyer section. All the articles in the Flyer connection are on the website except one, article about our OT loss to Miami Universityi on Nov 22 1997. Jablonski intro and a reprint of Bucky Albers story with a picture of a very happy Wally Szerbiakand Miami team. (That didn't bother me too badly since I saw Wally's interview of Obi last week and he told Obi he watched every one of his games this year )

Was that the game where Wally went nuts for 44 points, or some other ridiculous total? I remember seeing him do that, and thinking “He has to miss a shot sometime...doesn’t he?” The most dominant offensive performance I have ever witnessed in-person.

Wally's performance pales in comparison to what Scott Haffner of Evansville did against the Flyers in 1989. Haffner went for 65 points against a hapless Flyer defense. He was 11-13 from the 3-range and 23-29 overall. This was Don Donoher's last year of coaching and it highlighted something that I always thought led to his departure as a coach. I do not believe Don ever learned how to shoot the 3-ball or defend it. Those were some sad times as a Flyer fan. Below explains Haffner's feat.

I see that the Cedarville exhibition game is cancelled due to a positive test by tier one personnel on the Cedarville team. The game has been removed from the schedule on the Dayton Flyer web page but is still showing on the .pdf version of the schedule.

I saw this one on TV, as well as Smitty’s 52-point effort (without the benefit of a 3-point line) at Loyola of Chicago, in now-demolished Chicago Stadium, in 1973. But seeing “World” do that to our Flyers in-person was surreal.
And yes, it was sad to watch that season, which started with Billy Tubbs running up the score in Hawaii, and then the Haffner explosion in Evansville. Not as bad as the early-to-mid ‘90s record-wise, but possibly more depressing, knowing where the program had been earlier in the decade.

I believe so. I just remember the OT loss part of it and that Szerbiak had a major role in it.

And didn't Scott Schreffler from Evansville drop like 44 on us either the next year or the year after too?
