So Sid, was he considered a disappointment when he left. For those lofty stats he produced in HS and all the schools wanting him, seems to me he would've been looked at as a bust.

In those days there were no message boards so there weren't hundreds of amateur experts calling for his scholarship to be pulled. He was an EE major who had close to a 4.0 GPA. I seem to recall that most people were more impressed by that than his on-court accomplishments. He was just an all-around great kid.
I don't recall anything ever said by the press/broadcasters about the fact he didn't put up spectacular numbers. Actually, I don't think Tom Blackburn would have permitted anyone to shoot that much -- he emphasized team play to the hilt. Keep in mind, also, that he played for a small high school and if he had scoring capabilities he was probably allowed to go wild.

I'm having trouble finding the final results. I can't remember who won. Paxson? May? Chapman? Finkel?
Roberts? Do you have a link?

Scored 225 points as a Flyer, averaging 3.6 pts a game. Shot 35% from the floor, and 68% from the charity stripe. Also pulled down 126 rebounds, or 2 per game.

That is all I found, then the link goes back to today's Flyer website. Wonder if the tourney was ever finished?

Aren't the Westendorf brothers and May brothers the only sets of brothers in the Hall of Fame? Of course, there's the Paxson father and son duo too.
