All goes to play up the Semi's and Finals, we will be ranked 20 to 24th. Possibly higher if we make our Semi's or Finals. Dependent on what other ranked teams 16 to 24 do.

We better win @GW first. Their size will bother us. 12-3 at home. Lost there to VCU by 1. Senior night.

I really do not see any reason to be real worried about GW. While they are bigger than us, they don't really play big. Cavanaugh is a little more physical than TJ Cline, but similar to him. Watanabe is 6'8" but plays like he is 6'2." He definitely does not play to his size advantage. And their other 2 bigs that get a majority of minutes are 5pt 4rb guys. Nothing really that special. The key to the game is Cavanaugh. In the game at VCU, VCU blew them out because they were very physical with Cavanaugh and got him into foul trouble. If we run bodies at him and play him tough we will be fine.

This (above) is logical thinking, but how many times has Dayton played against a 5pt 4rb dude who goes for 20 and 10 against us?
Tough road game tomorrow night. Senior leadership and tough as nails defense needs to prevail in this type of game.

This will be a tough game to win and an important game to win. The win over VCU punched our dance card. Now we are playing for our seed. Beat GW and you are working your way up from an 8 seed to a possible 7 seed. Win out and we are hopefully staring at a 6 seed. It's all about who you want to play in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Do the heavy lifting now to give yourself an easier path later. BEAT GW!

Flyers record at the Smith Center 3-12. You probably didn't see a reason to be worried about UMass either, but our past seems to be relevant in these situations. Especially now that we're coming off a huge, emotional, goal achieving win and this game is meaningless to us other than NCAA ranking and seeding.

The fact that Gary Parrish works for CBS Sports Network and the VCU game Wednesday night and the upcoming tilt on Saturday vs. GW are both carried on his network probably does not hurt our cause.

Which is why I think Archie's move to go up and cut down the rest of the net was brilliant. His message was simply that there was things left to accomplish, the victory over VCU was important, meaningful but the season was far from over unless the seniors wanted to rest on what they accomplished and call it a career.

Looking at the surprising team in front of us in these rankings -- Minnesota -- sure glad McKinley Wright committed before the Gophers had a breakout year.

Your confusing games....

At GW- where we are playing it was very far from a blowout---- here's what happened;
The short story: Senior guard JeQuan Lewis drew a foul with 0.4 seconds remaining and knocked down a pair of free throws to give VCU a second straight dramatic victory Wednesday at George Washington.
VCU was lucky as hell to escape with a one point win. THis may not be as easy as you think.

I'm not confusing games. I was talking about the game at VCU that happened BEFORE the game at GW. They have played them twice.
EDIT: Not sure why my post didn't quote yours correctly. My post is in Red

Nice to see the accolades, but in the immortal words of Curly, "Day ain't over yet." Tomorrow's game is for seeding. Win, and we have a good chance at a 7 seed, or maybe even a 6. Lose, and we pretty much need to win the tournament championship to get off the 8-seed line. That's why tomorrow's game is so important.
Just win, baby! GO FLYERS!!!

A huge pet peeve of mine is when people use all-time records when discussing current match-ups. This current team is not 3-12 vs GW at the Smith Center they are 0-1 with a 1pt OT loss against a much better GW team. This current team is 15-2 in the A10 and has beat teams that are better than GW on the road this season. The only way our current team knows that we are 3-12 there and that we are cursed there are if people and the media consistently bring it up to them and get it in their head that they are cursed there. we are 15-2 we have won 9 in a row, we should be confident that we can win there.

Oh, I'm confident we can win there, I'm just not real confident we will. A lot of those losses were when we were the better team. What's relevant is that it's tough place to win. And also, the circumstances I mentioned at the end of my post still stands regardless of the fact this is a different team. And maybe it would help if they are aware of failings there, might be a reminder to not expect to have an easy time. And one more thing, Scooch, KD and KP were all there when Scooch got caught flat footed for the put back dagger two years ago.

If we were Wichita and beat GW on the road, it would be one of our best wins of the season. Perspective.
