Keeping Perspective

The UD loss was difficult to watch today. Very disappointed in the results.

There was a greater loss right before the game. Bruce Sucher, long time fan had a major heart attack right behind the UD band minutes before tipoff. Efforts to revive him, including CPR failed and he passed away. You felt helpless watching the CPR efforts fail to revive him. He was 70 years old.

His daughter in law is the coach of the cheerleaders.

Willie gathered the band and cheerleaders to pray as the paramedics took him to the hospital.

This sudden, tragic loss for his wife and family members who were with him is much worse than any basketball outcome. Please keep them in your prayers.

My wife noted that he was a table close to us in the hotel one hour before the game. Suddenly he was gone. Be sure to hug your family members tonight. And remember, basketball is still a game.

NBCSN just paid respect to him and the family including a statement from Bernadette on behalf of the A10.

I was about 4 sections over from where this tragedy occurred. It was so frighteningly difficult to watch. May God bless his family and friends!

Thank you for reminding all of us what is important, and what is entertainment.
