Coach Grant. That first half execution on both ends was as clean as I can remember from a Dayton team. Generated good looks on most possessions.

Mikesell early, then went brain dead.
Landers in the the middle, then he committed a number of poor plays.
Toppin had a little spark in the middle of the 2nd half.
Thought Cowhill played well....good D.
Matos played good D, but was sloppy with the ball.
Mr. Davis, calling Mr. Davis....he needs to go back to pick and roll school, missed JC several times.
Crutcher played well...FT's iffy, then clutch.
Cunningham outplayed TWO, count 'em, TWO F'n big men! He gets the vote.

Best 40 minute defensive effort in quite some time.

Wow. Our Flyers looked poised, under control, and very impressive against their first real test of the year. Gave it to Crutcher due to his domination in the backcourt and solid play against a (potentially) top 50 player. Outstanding TEAM performance however, and Coach Grant showed us what we were all hoping to see, heart, a decisive game plan, and a group of troops that seem to genuinely enjoy playing together. This was a great game to watch and an even better team effort. PS. Can somebody check which league those refs officiate for?!?

Voted Cunningham. Crutcher had a great game, but Cunningham outplayed Fowler & Brunk combined. Guys who were averaging 21 PPG between them combined for 9 points. Cunningham had 18 by hisself. Controlled the paint. Controlled the game. JC for MOP.

Defense was outstanding in my opinion. We covered up the three-ball well; had some clean blocks in the paint, and were rarely beaten off the dribble-drive. This all amounted to a very good evening on the hardwood.

And they will continue. Scoochie had a really good supporting cast as does Crutcher. As much as Scoochie was one of the all time greats, I think Cructher may be able to surpass that...and that is in no way a knock on Scoochie.

For the second game in a row my vote goes to "team effort" but gave the nod to AG on this poll. NO selfish shots. NO disgusted looks at teammates. NO hanging the head when subbed out. NO fake applause from the bench. NO one dominated from start to finish, yet everyone had a stretch (even Davis defensively).

I remember comments on here and elsewhere last season wondering if AG is too easy going, mild mannered (of course, we just lost one of the most intense coaches in Archie). I think we can put the easy going comments aside. AG has his players backs and he's not afraid to show it. Don't know what the T was for, but he was hotter than a match and it carried over to the players.

Watched replay on the T. 50 had moved to screen a UD guy, grabbed him, then went over the back / pushed a UD player out from the basket. The whole time AG moved down the sideline screaming at ref to call it.
50 committed 2 to 4 fouls depending on your definition and when you would personally call the foul & stop the play.

I didn’t see all the off ball action but that entire sequence started with a dragged foot travel in the lane that wasn’t called. I assumed that was what AG was upset about.

Grant's defense was unbelievable, especially in view of last season and the first 3 games of this season. All 8 were working hard together. If they hadn't, Crutcher would still be our MVP, but we would have lost 85-69.

Wright is a great PG, but if you look at their stats this season, we got the better end of that deal, although it’s early. Crutcher is developing from good to great right before our eyes.

The travel on Trey was flat wrong. I watched it several times and he shuffled his feet before the ball arrived. Once he caught it he just dribbled.

I like Crutcher a lot. I am glad we have him and I think he is going to break all kinds of UD records. I am glad we have him. That said, Wright is a really good player and will do well too.
