I hope I am wrong but it looks like Richmond has lost five games at home this year. Yet they are still favored by 1 1/2 points over us. UGH

This line comes straight off a computer model.
Dayton has not cover the spread in their last 6 games...something's gotta give!

That is just an indication of how much the team has diminished over the last 20 days...UGH is right...we are on the bubble and if we lose out, we are sadly off the bubble and traveling to an NIT site.

After how we have played over the last three games, who could have put enough money on Dayton to cause a 2 1/2 point shift from Dayton -1 1/2 to giving 1 point. I can understand the money coming in dropping it to a Pick game.

If the worst should occur, and we are in the NIT, if we are the higher seeded team we would play at home on Thursday. This change was part of the First Four agreement after we had to go to Iowa as the higher seeded team a few years ago.

The problem is that the NIT/ESPN may say the first round games must be played on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. I hope they have it worked out with those two entities or have a back up plan to play the game at the Nutter Center. If we are sent on the road with the lower seed in the future, I will be all over the UD Administration in the blogosphere world like a cheap suit for selling out the team by pi$$ poor negotiation or planning. For right now, we need to focus on making the NCAA Tournament and getting the highest seed possible. That is the most important goal.

If this team ends up in the NIT it will be because they lost the previous 4 games and in that case it will not matter where the game is played because nobody on the UD side will give a sh!t.

What about my post don't you understand? By the way the NCAA controls the NIT.

Amen!
The problem is there is portion of the UD fan base that will actually care about the NIT for some strange reason, and then we'll have a civil war on here debating if the NIT is important or not. I still to this day see people wearing NIT championship t-shirts in public which I can't believe they even purchased in the first place.

It has always been stated that it was worked out with the NCAA to have access to the building on Thursday, but there is wiggle room when it comes to the NIT Committee or ESPN. Has it been worked out with those entities ? Are they autonomous on the decision making process ? In sports, TV does rules. I know it would be collosal disaster if we were left with a NIT bid. Most fans would throw in the towel and who could blame them. I am more concerned on those down years where a NIT bid would be welcomed.

I can't believe we are even talking about NIT. If that's even relevant in the ddn, it would be a travesty considering where this team was a few weeks ago. Fan support and loyalty will have limits.

I got one as a gift from my sister as she was in New York at the time and actually went to the final game. I still wear it occasionally around the house. At the time I was proud as it was the best any UD team had accomplished since the final 8 run in 84'. But since I now believe it's possible for a UD team to actually make another run into the NCAA (thanks AM) I have no interest at all in any post season other than the NCAA. IF this team "makes" the NIT, I won't watch it. Not because the NIT isn't good enough because it would be an accomplishment in a rebuilding year with all freshmen and sophomores; but because for this team it would be a major underachievement/meltdown and I couldn't bring myself to witness it.

As long as you didn't buy it yourself the rules state you are allowed to wear an NIT t-shirt in your own home when there are no visitors or to mow your lawn. Way to follow the rules longtimefan67.

Not sure if any of you watch the Scott VanPelt Sportscenter that comes on at midnight but he always does a bad beats/moose segment highlighting some bad results for those people putting a few dollars on the game. Dayton was the highlight tonight. Showed Scoochie missing the 2 FTs and then Cline hitting the 3 which killed everyone who got Dayton -1.5.
