Saint Joseph's Game Thread
Once again, just take care of business and don't look forward to the game on Friday at URI... that is all.
Game is at 8 PM on Tuesday Night and will be shown on ASN.
Starting Lineup:
G 0 Lamarr Kimble 6’0” 190 SO Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
G 15 Chris Clover 6’3” 213 SO Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
F 2 Charlie Brown 6’6” 195 FR Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
F 25 James Demery 6’6” 198 JR Williamston, North Carolina
F 23 Markell Lodge 6’7” 214 SO Washington, North Carolina
Without Shavar Newkirk they aren't nearly as good, but still have 3 players that average in double figures (Kimble 15.2, Demery 13.6 and Brown 12.1).
Go UD!

Sure, but how do you explain the approx. 5 feet of the splits with about 3 inches of coverage?

I'm sure they have heavy skin colored nylons on. At least I hope so.

Wow, SJU's Twitter account just said that both Demery and Clover are out tonight due to illness and didn't travel with the team. I believe they are now down to 7 scholarship players, one of which is a former walk on. Sounds familiar...

The way Joe plays us they can play the second half with all walkons and it will be tight.

I'm predicting A LOT of empty seats tonight. I couldn't even give my tickets away on the ticket exchange for the lowest possible price you can list them at.

With Saint Joseph's being our bogey team, that's five more scholarship players than they need against us...

I would like to see if Crosby can get in the game and disrupt the defense a little bit. We are letting them get comfortable.

Crosby is in the game. Please remember that there is now a thread for all things related to JC.
http://www.udpride.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30410
You should now go there and comment that he drove under control and kicked to Mikesell for a 3.

Then he decided to up Mikesell's degree of difficulty with that 80 mph chest pass at Mikesell's head. The Reds just left a voice mail message on Miller's cell phone asking if Crosby can throw a curve, too.

They gave that turnover to Crosby... not fair. Mikesell running down the middle of the court with his head turned.

Now up to 11-28 and 3-12. Only 2 turnovers to their 6. Rebounds about even.

For a team that doesn't play a whole lot of zone, they are doing it pretty well tonight.
Looks like the Kimble kid is the real deal

Guess we should expect this with St Joes. Their record is irrelevant when they play us.

UD is 9-12 inside the arc. Might be something there.

Kimbal and Brown are very much the real deal. Casper is good too. Just think, they are down three players. Without all the injuries they are probably a bubble team at least.

You might have the impression that the difference in the game is threes, but it is not. We are 4-14 and they are 4-12. On two point shots we are 9-22 and they are 9-15. Too many missed point blank shots for us.

UD simply didn't seem ready to play again. Whether it's looking ahead to Rhody or something else this team appears to struggle being ready and motivated to play each and every night.
This might be a time to come out and press to get some pace into the game, but we all know Archie isn't going to do that.

Their athleticism is intimidating Scoochie and Mikesell. It is actually effecting many of the others.

Archie needs to light a fire under Mikesell and Scoochie and Pollard on defense.

Especially Mikesell. He's completely intimidated and unable to finish anything inside.

Be interesting to see what Archie come up with this half because we are not drawing fouls and SS, DD, KD and RM can't score

Cooke should have taken that shot instead of dropping off to Kendall.
And Mikesell just got driven by like his feet were in concrete.

I think that will start at URI. He's just started practicing so tonight might be forcing it.

He is simply not quick enough to guard some guys. Somebody is going to reply to this that his basketball IQ makes up for it, but sometimes he simply isn't a good enough athlete to guard a guy wanting to drive from the wing.

If I get nothing else from this game, I'll at least know to never do crunches on the floor again. Hip Hop Abs is where it's at.

We are 4-6, and they are 2-6 to give us the 5 point lead.
Hope Charles is okay. His 5-9 shooting was huge. He caused his injury with some ps poor defense.

I don't think we see Josh if the game is close.
Let's get a double digit lead and hope we see him play for a couple of minutes.

That's at least three straight halves for UD without either team getting into the bonus.

Kyle Davis simply gives no effs who's around the rim when drives to the basket. He attacks whoever's there...and it's awesome.

Okay folks I'm tired of Charles trying to pass so much and I'm blaming everyone on this site who called him a ball hog. He just passed up a 2nd layup attempt on the night. It's like he read what you all said and is trying to pass too much.
