Men and Women Seniors are ....
The key to our success. From Devin Oliver and Jordan Sibert, to a whole string of women Seniors punctuated by Hoover and Malott, Dayton has excelled by being carried on their broad shoulders. It's an old theory that you go as far as Seniors can take you. Nothing has been more evident than the Flyers teams recently. Our men and women Seniors have elevated their game at tournament time.
There is something about your Senior year that you realize it's the last rodeo and you would rather throw your body in front of a train than lose. We fans have been fortunate to witness Seniors that can lead and have the stuff to elevate their game.
More than anything, what gives hope for the Flyer's future is a string of talent that can, and will, get better as they reach the end of their Dayton career.
Some say players peak around their Sophomore year, but the special players do not. And Archie and JJ seem to be recruiting and developing specifically those kinds of leaders. Our future really looks bright when you put the rosters in that context. The pipeline for men and women is loaded with talent.
Special thanks to men and women Seniors, past and present, who have given us so many reasons to be proud Flyer supporters. Job well done.
