Jeff Ruby free steak dinner for NKU students
Cincinnati-based restaurateur Jeff Ruby is offering a free steak dinner for every one of the approximately 15,000 NKU students if NKU pulls the upset and defeats UK.

Yeah those 3 oz steaks with a baked potatoe should be easily covered by the margin in the $7 beer or $4 soda most will pay for to drink with it. But brilliant marketing to get the free press and everyone talking about your business. And whatever it takes to knock off UK.

Why not turn around an make an odds bet on NKU to cover the cost and add some if they win.

So if he bets the amount he's going to spend on the students on the spread, it'll cost him the same as if they win if they don't cover and will only be winnings if they do cover but don't win.

Jeff Ruby and his cocky attitude ****ed my quiet very low key wife off, so we will never be back. He asked how everything was, and she had a very minor complaint about a $6 side dish that she thought was not what she hoped for, and he turned into a jerk. Not like she was asking for another one, money back, or anything. Lost our almost monthly business, as well as the friends that were normally with us. Rumor has it we are not the first this has happened too, so maybe giving away food is the only way to get people back, but not us!

If you're boycotting Ruby but want similar experience in greater Cincinnati, go to Tony's in Mason. Excellent food and service, the key people are Ruby's former employees. I know it's sacrilege to say on a UD board, but we like it better than Pine Club. We do Paragon when in a hurry, but make the extra drive to Tony's when in thr mood for an experience.

Thanks Sheq- We will check it out. In case you missed where I mentioned St. Elmos in the Indy thread, you might want to check that place out sometime. We like it better than anywhere else we have been. Non major event weekends in Indy you can score cheap hotel rooms downtown Indy as well (paid $89 a night at the same Marriot the Flyers are staying at now), fun and safe place to go party and act young again! Oh, your not alone in thinking the Pine Club is not the best place on Gods green earth. Customer service, a friendly smile, and a thank you as your leaving go a long way in my book.

we hit Elmo's 2-3 times a year. That shrimp cocktail is legendary for a reason!
By the way- the Dallas Clark strip at Tony's is the signature cut, and I'd recommend it for medium rare or higher. But if you like RED meat like I do, go for the 12 oz barrel cut filet. Word to the wise. It's also pricier than Pine Club. We typically drop $120 at Pine Club but $180 at Tony's. Likely due to a better list of wines by the glass and send craft beers. (PC has a better wine list if you're ordering a bottle.)
