If yesterday wasn't a wake up call I don't know what is. We can't take anyone lightly. Respect everyone, fear no one. Keep the pedal to the metal!

We got the prez a couple years ago.. I think we need to move up and invite Pope Francis to the arena this week. After yesterday, and besides the name affinity, where else could he be closer to divine presence. It would be the holy trinity (or maybe trifecta) of Francis.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Not sure we are ready for ACC opponents yet. Clearly SF (NY) was. They are predicted to go 10-6 in their conference by Pomeroy. I think they play Syracuse next.

Congratulations to UD
for scheduling the Holy Pontiff Tour. UD's standing in the Holy Church is certain to rise as a result. Never mind the R.P.I. impact and all those things that are merely of this world.

I'd argue that SF (NY) will have a mathematically positive impact on our RPI provided we win. Lose and it will clearly hurt the resume.

They don't need a wake up call, they just aren't that good. I look at this squad and see a bottom half A10 team.

What are your complaints about this team other than bad defense? Offense? Coaching? Bad recruiting? The team doesn't play smart or hustle?

In 03-04 we beat Wagner by 2 and IUPUI by 2 and went dancing. In 08-09 we beat Wofford by 3 and went dancing. In 07-08 we beat East Tennessee State by 4 and went 23-11. There are other examples of very close buy games. It's not like we haven't done this before. But we need to get some things corrected - fast. Let's blow out the St Francis twins and take it from there.

True, but I feel like in previous seasons it's been a matter of, "Gah! Why don't they do what they know how to do!?"
This season, the first game's defense looked like more of the same from last season. Which leads to, "Gah! They don't know how to play defense at all!" Which doesn't leave room for as much upside as previous seasons.
Still hopeful, though...

Poor defense is a given. They might work on it, but Miller either lacks the ability to get players to defend or lacks the willingness to sit people to improve it.
Lack of effort and brain cramps show up on offense too - from DMO not pursuing Sanford's bad pass hard, giving up three on the other end, to Sibert saving the ball back under the basket for an and one to tie, to Sanford and Pierre driving middle into collapsing defenses.
Consistency. 12 points were scored in about the first 12 minutes of the second half.
Inability to corrall key rebounds. IPFW got several second chance opportunities late game.
Inconsistent perimeter shooting and negligible post game on either end of the floor.

St Francis PA is picked 8th in the 10 team Northeast conference…
http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2011/1...st-conference/
“ST. FRANCIS-PA: The Red Flash won only five games a season ago, so there really isn't anywhere the team can go but up. Helping in that regard will be the return of the NEC's Most Improved Player from 2012-13, Earl Brown (10.1 ppg, 8.1 rpg). Joining Brown is his quest to make St. Francis relevant will be sophomore guard Ben Millaud-Meunier (9.3 ppg) and sophomore forward Stephon Mosley (8.3 ppg, 4.6 rpg), but this will clearly be Brown's season to shine. Unless of course someone else steps to the forefront, and it wouldn't be all that surprising to see a guy like freshman guard Malik Harmon develop into a solid contributor rather quickly. In the end however, expecting the Red Flash to elevate themselves enough to challenge the top teams in the NEC is probably asking a bit too much.”

And now I know who will be achieving a career high. Seems to happen every time someone visits the arena.

Miami is picked 13th in the acc, they lost their top six players. Still a good win for Brooklyn but it wasn't against a powerhouse.
It should be a good test for the Flyers.

Don't call them Brooklyn. You'll make both them and Long Island really mad.
New York is an interesting place.
You have Manhattan, which is located in the Bronx.
You have Long Island, which is located in Brooklyn, and now wants to be called LIU Brooklyn, and eventually just Brooklyn. They're still called Long Island by the general status quo.
You have SFNY, which hates being called SFNY and now wants to be called Saint Francis University, but is being called Saint Francis Brooklyn. They don't like that because that's what LIU wants to be called.
Not to be confused with SFPA, who wants to be called Saint Francis College, but is still called SFPA.
SFNY and Long Island are actually pretty big rivals. Or Saint Francis U and LIU Brooklyn. Or....whatever. So, you don't want to call them by the wrong name, even though no one really knows what the right name is.
In all seriousness, LIU Brooklyn, Wagner, Bryant and Robert Morris are all pretty solid teams. No one else in that league really is, including SFPA and SFNY. The win over Miami sounded better than what it really was. Miami is not good this year.

Nope. (I was born in Brooklyn . . .)
Brooklyn is the most populous of New York City's five boroughs, with about 2.5 million people, and the second-largest in area.

But isn't it on the same island, with what is commonly referred to as Long Island further east. Queens and Brooklyn are NYC boroughs, and the rest if the island isn't part if NYC.

Only you and I probably care about this - but technically "yes" - Brooklyn is on the same island.
But when i was young we "moved" from Brooklyn to Long Island.
People who live there never confuse the two.
