Xavier & George W Bush
Honestly, the Xavier thing about JimmyCarter is pretty witty.
Dayton's new refrain should be you haven't been to the Elite 8 since George W Bush was President :-) -- let's hope this continues for a long time!
BTW, I think we need to get over the Xavier thing. They dominated us for 30 years and really made a run from about about 2004-2012 with 5 Sweet 16 appearances and 2 Elite 8s in 2004 and 2008. But I don't see Chris Mack as the same calibre as Miller, Matta, Prosser, and Gillen (I could be proven wrong, but I don't see him taking them to the Elite 8).
IMHO, we now are walking the walk, 2014 was the tipping year and now our programs are on similar footing (I know this will post will be destroyed on the Xavier boards as they do read them -- but all we have lacked is success in the NCAA -- we were 16 in kenpom when we won the NIT, just unlucky did not make the NCAA that year). Xavier has the Big East which is a +1 versus the A-10, but we have Archie Miller who is a +1 versus Chris Mack. I have been so envious of Xavier's success over the past 30 years, but honestly the Elite 8 run has gotten me over this. Let's stop trolling the Marquette, Xavier, land of holy hoops boards, etc. and be more positive about X and give them the respect.
We are in the Elite 8 in 2014!

Or, we can get to the Final Four and then troll the hell out their board pointing out that 1 final four trumps 30 years of no final fours.

I'm over them. You're the one who brought them up again. I have said we should try to get a series with Cincinnati.

I didn't want to start a new thread for this, so here goes...
Semaj Christon leaving Xavier
http://www.cbssports.com/collegebask...leaving-xavier
This will set them back some, even though they have a good recruiting class coming in.

While I love what this team has accomplished this year, and I do finally believe AM has the program on the right path....we have a long way to go before we're on equal footing with X. Any other thought process at this point is wishful thinking.

Must be just a coincidence that the first time in decades our fate hasn't been tied to _avier in some respect that we are in the Elite 8. I'd rather play Wright State than ever play in Cincinnati again. Period. Maybe give _avier a buy game every few years at our house. Maybe.

Another idea worth pursuing, I think, is to contact the teams we just played in the Dance,....if not tOSU, then both SUs.

Sorry LTF67, that is just poppycock. We are the most talked about team in the country right now. They didn't get into the field of 64. They just announced they are losing their top player to the NBA. In today's "What have you done for me lately" culture, Xavier is old news. Dayton is on its way back to reclaiming the Mecca of College Basketball crown.

I am moved to pity for X. Three heckling students is all it takes to ruin their post-season these days. They are so mid-major.

UD being in the Elite Eight doesn't make X fans any less delusional. These threads are needed through all the phases of their delusionality.

If they ever chant "Carter" let's chant "Big Bang" because that's how long it's been since we held the all time lead in games over them.

Actually, I just checked out this year's Media Guide. The last time they had the edge in the series was January of 1956, as Eisenhower was starting his 2nd term as President.
Maybe the next time we play them, when they start chanting "Jim-my Car-ter", we should start chanting "WE LIKE IKE! WE LIKE IKE!"
